According to Bush...We've been in a state of "national emergency" against Iran since 1979

This crap blows my mind. The following is from the Presidential Documents section of LOUISdb.org
Notice of November 8, 2007

Continuation of the National Emergency With Respect to Iran
On November 14, 1979, by Executive Order 12170, the President declared a national emergency with respect to Iran pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701-1706) to deal with the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States constituted by the situation in Iran. Because
our relations with Iran have not yet returned to
normal, and the process of implementing the January 19, 1981 agreements with Iran is still underway, the national emergency declared on November 14, 1979, must continue in effect beyond November 14, 2007. Therefore,
consistent with section 202(d) of the National
Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year this national emergency with respect to Iran.

This notice shall be published in the Federal Register
and transmitted to the Congress.

(Presidential Sig.)

THE WHITE HOUSE,

November 8, 2007.
I guess the "resident in the Oval Office" wanted to remind US of something. That "something"....Iran. The man is dangerous and has other motives. Impeach!, before before he and his cronies start WWIII.

Shady Bernard Kerik still wants "Gifts"...this Time from You

I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but it's true. Bernard Kerik, Rudy's shady BFF, has set up a website for his defense. "The Bernard Kerik Legal Defense Trust" even has a "Donor's Guide"

Check this out,
"The Bernard Kerik Legal Defense Trust has been established to allow Mr. Kerik’s friends and supporters to assist him in defending himself against possible charges that may be brought against him by the United States Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York."
.....
"Having incurred legal fees in the course of the Bronx and federal investigation and paid a substantial financial penalty when he settled the Bronx case, and having had his business impacted by the intense publicity, he is not in a position to fund a proper defense to this federal case"
.....
The trust may accept unlimited personal contributions.

2. How Will the Funds Be Used?

Any contribution you make to the Trust will be treated as a gift to Mr. Kerik to be used at his discretion. All funds collected will be deposited with the trustee of the Trust, and it is Mr. Kerik’s intention that any funds contributed to the Trust will be used to defray legal expenses incurred by him during any civil or criminal investigations or court proceedings to which he may be a witness, subject or party, to reimburse him for any income taxes he incurs as a result of contributions to the Trust and income derived there from, and to pay any costs incident to creating, managing, and encouraging contributions to the Trust. In the event of Mr. Kerik’s death prior to the conclusion of any such investigation or proceeding, it is his intention that the funds in the Trust be used to defray any legal expenses incurred by his family. If any funds are left in the Trust once Mr. Kerik’s legal expenses have been paid in full, it is Mr. Kerik’s intention to donate the remainder of the funds in the Trust to a charity or charities to be determined at his discretion.

3. Are There Any Potential Tax Implications?

Your contribution to the Trust is not tax-deductible, and you may incur federal gift tax liability. However, an individual donor can make an annual tax-free gift of up to $12,000, and a married couple can make an annual tax-free gift of up to $24,000. However, you should consult your own accountant or tax advisor regarding your personal financial situation and any potential tax liability before making a contribution to the Trust.

IRS Circular 230 Disclosure: To ensure compliance with requirements imposed by the IRS, I inform you that any tax advice contained in this communication (including any attachments) was not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, for the purpose of (i) avoiding tax-related penalties under the Internal Revenue Code or (ii) promoting, marketing or recommending to another party any matters addressed herein.

It's ok..you can vomit now. Get real...this idiot is still asking for "gifts". What a schmuck! Just like is BFF. Note the first line of his "donor's guide"...."Any contribution you make to the Trust will be treated as a gift to Mr. Kerik to be used at his discretion." Get it..HIS DISCRETION! Dirty, dirty, shady, shady. The only "gift" Kerik should receive is a jail cell..enough said

I wish I could have searched the site some more, but ugh..what a criminal. I had to leave.

AT&T Whistleblower tells all to Capitol Hill on Wed.

Strap on your seat belts, the "telecom immunity joyride" is becoming more interesting. On Wednesday, Mark Klein, a telecommunications technician who says he helped AT&T and the NSA set up their controversial wiretapping system, is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and tell his story.

Here are a few excerpts from an article by Rebecca Carr of the The Secrecy File,
Mark Klein wants the Senate Judiciary committee to reject legislation that offers telecommuncations companies legal protection for participating in President Bush’s surveillance program without a court warrant. The Senate Intelligence Committee recently cleared such legislation. (thanks to "telecom Jay")On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will evaluate the measure.
.....

“My job required me to enable the physical connections between AT&T customers’ internet communications and the National Security Agency’s illegal, wholesale copying machine for domestic emails, internet phone conversations, web surfing and all other Internet traffic,” Klein said in a statement.

I have first-hand knowledge of the clandestine collaboration between one giant telecommunications company, AT&T, and the NSA to facilitate the most comprehensive illegal domestic spying program in history,”Klein said.

Klein said AT&T built technology to help the government’s domestic warrantless wiretapping program at its main switching facility in San Francisco.

Oops...busted..Someone is talking and the Judiciary Committee is about to hear him. I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what "telecom Jay" has to say about 'immunity' for the OBVIOUSLY ILLEGAL eavesdropping program. Will AT&T andVerizon's contributions to "telecom Jay" pay off? Probably so. Mr. Klein's testimony will fall upon deaf "retro active immunity" ears.

Pelosi and Reid continue to allow BushCO the ability to open "Pandora's Box". The "House of Pelsoi and Reid" have failed US. They sold US short before they went on their vacation earlier this year. Their rush to 'grant' a continuance to the Bush/Cheney eavesdropping program will never be given up. Once they gave BushCO the gift of eavesdropping on US citizens, they will never get it back. Illegal or not, the NSA's wiretapping program is here to stay. Big Brother is not only watching...he's listening now, too.

Tony Snow is still talking? Someone muzzle him

I thought we escaped Tony Snow? Apparently not, this weekend he showed up in Boca Raton, Florida at the American Magazine Conference spewing at the mouth about the 'intellectual vigor' of the Bush Administration,

According to an article in Portfolio.com, Highlights of the conference were provided via 'the mouth of Snow',
highlights from Sunday evening's Q&A Tony Snow. The former White House speaker and Fox News talking head played it pretty cautious, but did offer a few observations worth repeating.

On his health: "I've got a small handful of tumors. They're not getting bigger. If they stay where they are I'll die at a ripe old age and that's what I'm looking forward to doing."

On what surprised him about working at the White House: "No. 1 was how much fun it was. Believe it or not, being press secretary was a blast -- the most fun I've ever had."

On the Bush Administration's decision-making process: "You don't see it but there's a process where everything gets discussed, and there are some raging arguments.... It's not the case that something is always handed in a neat little bundle to the leader of the free world. He's gotta make some choices....When people look back at this White House, they're gonna find its one that had a lot of intellectual vigor." Portfolio.com

Tough sell, Tony, but in honor of the theme " MagaBrand Revolution", you lived up to par. Re "branding" the Bush Administration as 'intellectual' is hilarious. Snow didn't stop there. The man loves his voice...
"The newspapers have to realize that they are a niche market and the one thing they can do better than anyone else is analysis. As a guy who spent the majority of his career in print media and loves writing, it scares me that newspapers are in the state they're in."

On the effects of the 24-hour-news cycle on journalism: "There are structural problems right now that make it very difficult to cover the White House the way it should be covered....People are trying to keep up with the electronic media. So what happens is you end up thinking, what can I do quickly and what can I do that people are going to watch? ....If you're doing it in real time, you can get real stupid." Portfolio.com

And my favorite....his analysis of Fox News,
"There's perceived bias on the part of Fox because they don't treat conservatives as knuckle-dragging morons....I think the rap on Fox having a bias is an unfair one. My sense is rather than grousing with a winning formula, people ought to learn from them." (Dumbass) Portfolio.com
Be glad we are free of this partisan, lying, hypocrite, moron professing the 'virtues' of a Rovian Bush 'residency' in the Oval Office. Perino offers more comedic intrigue, anyway. The "fake news" marches on...

What did George W. Bush eat for Lunch?

Reposted from the The Searcher,
It was a small ceremony. Just George, Dick, Condi, Karl, and a few others. They gathered around the document, and each said a few words. Then they let George bring out his condiment; a favorite bbq sauce from a ranch near his in Texas. He'd been putting that sauce on everything. He joked it was a shame they couldn't use this as an endorsement. Those gathered laughed, without hint of nervousness or doubt. This was a liberating evening for all.

After a toast, the President began. At first he tried silverware, but the parchment crumbled too much under the knife. After some trial and error, the method settled upon was to tear off long strips, and roll them up with bbq sauce like enchiladas. For the remainder of the document, he ate in this way. Once there was nothing left save for a paste of dust and sauce, they toasted again, clapped, and called it a night.

Next week was Dick's turn, with the other document. He was leaning towards bringing a simple vinaigrette. But that bbq sauce was growing on him.

Iranian Debacle: Larijani successor, Saeed Jalili, is Ahmadinejad's BFF

"It is a step towards consolidating the camp of Ahmadinejad and shutting the door to any kind of differences." Political analyst Mohhamad Sadegh al-Hosseini
The unexpected resignation of Ali Larijani as Iran's top nuclear negotiator on Friday dealt another blow to the rising tensions between the United States and Iran. Larijani's resignation has added more fuel the the fire of a "nuclear confrontation" with Iran. Diplomacy and negotiations appear to be over. Filling the shoes of Larijani, Saeed Jalili, is Ahmadinejad's "best friend forever".

Excerpts from the Channel News Asia
"The resignation of Mr Larijani has been accepted and Saeed Jalili will be replacing him," government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by several Iranian news agencies.
.....
Jalali was born in 1965 in Iran's holy second city of Mashhad. He started his diplomatic career in 1989 and has worked in the office of the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
.....
He was appointed deputy foreign minister in September 2005, just after Ahmadinejad took office.
.......
"It is a step towards consolidating the camp of Ahmadinejad and shutting the door to any kind of differences. Political analyst Mohhamad Sadegh al-Hosseini
.......
"It is a prelude to the line-up of the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections," on March 14, 2008 and in summer 2009.
and a little of their history together....
In a sign of his closeness to the president, Jalili was a constant presence next to Ahmadinejad during his visit to New York this year to address the United Nations General Assembly.
.....
Like Ahmadinejad, Jalili is a veteran of the 1980-1988 war with Iraq, when he was wounded in the leg and to this day walks with a limp.

He also attended the same university as Ahmadinejad -- the University of Science and Industry in Tehran
......
"Jalili enjoys close relations with Ahmadinejad and is one of the experienced diplomats of the foreign ministry," said Raja News, a website close to the views of the president.
Why do people think he is the "direct representative" of Ahmadinejad? well, according to Saeed Jalili himself....
"Maybe because we share the same views and I have a longer acquaintance with the president people perceive it this way," he said.
He should have added..."and we even look alike..so I grew the beard and added the glasses."

Folks, the deal is done. Put a fork in it. The Busheviks and the 'House of Pelosi' have laid it ON the 'TABLE' for US. We are going to war...and Iran knows it. God save US all...from them. For them, declaring war is easy...it's not their children..it's ours. Don't make it easy for them...inform yourself.

Next Week is "National Character Counts Week", Will our policymakers become inspired? Nope

Aren't we so lucky. As our policymakers derail the extension of S CHIP, they've also decided...next week...it's all about the children. Basically what they've said is, "we won't support you with healthcare, but our rhetoric might help...just don't get sick" Congressional Bill, S. RES. 351

Resolved, That the Senate--

(1) designates the week beginning October 21, 2007, as

        "National Character Counts Week"; and

(2) calls upon the people of the United States and interested groups--

(A) to embrace the elements of character identified by local schools and communities, such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship; and

(B) to observe the week with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities.

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

October 18, 2007, 110th CONGRESS

(for himself, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Alexander, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Stevens, Mr. Rockefeller, Mr. Cochran, Mr. Durbin, Ms. Murkowski, Mr. Biden, Mr. Enzi, Mr. Pryor, and Ms. Stabenow) submitted the following resolution; which was considered and agreed to....

Designating the week beginning October 21, 2007, as "National Character Counts Week".

the well-being of the United States requires that the young people of the United States become an involved, caring citizenry with good character;

the character education of children has become more urgent as violence by and against youth increasingly threatens the physical and psychological well-being of the people of the United States;

more than ever, children need strong and constructive guidance from their families and their communities, including schools, youth organizations, religious institutions, and civic groups;

the character of a nation is only as strong as the character of its individual citizens;

the public good is advanced when young people are taught the importance of good character and the positive effects that good character can have in personal relationships, in school, and in the workplace;

scholars and educators agree that people do not automatically develop good character and that, therefore, conscientious efforts must be made by institutions and individuals that influence youth to help young people develop the essential traits and characteristics that comprise good character;

although character development is, first and foremost, an obligation of families, the efforts of faith communities, schools, and youth, civic, and human service organizations also play an important role in fostering and promoting good character;

Congress encourages students, teachers, parents, youth, and community leaders to recognize the importance of character education in preparing young people to play a role in determining the future of the United States;

effective character education is based on core ethical values, which form the foundation of democratic society;

examples of character are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship, and honesty;

elements of character transcend cultural, religious, and socioeconomic differences;

the character and conduct of our youth reflect the character and conduct of society, and, therefore, every adult has the responsibility to teach and model ethical values and every social institution has the responsibility to promote the development of good character;

Congress encourages individuals and organizations, especially those who have an interest in the education and training of the young people of the United States, to adopt the elements of character as intrinsic to the well-being of individuals, communities, and society;

many schools in the United States recognize the need, and have taken steps, to integrate the values of their communities into their teaching activities; and

the establishment of National Character Counts Week, during which individuals, families, schools, youth organizations, religious institutions, civic groups, and other organizations focus on character education, is of great benefit to the United States: Now, therefore, be it Congressional Bills, S.RES 351

Sure...it's all the youth in America's fault that the nation as progressed into such disrepair. Think about it Senators..they have NO ROLE MODELS...YOU'RE ALL CORRUPT. Why didn't we have a "National Character Counts Week" when Bush and our 'aging' representatives were in school?

The Presidential Order that led to a "fishing expedition" with Cheney

Ahhh..isn't life just great. For George W. Bush it is. After signing an Executive Order to regulate the fishing industry, the "decider guy" decided it was time to go fishing himself.
“The executive order is part of our commitment to end over-fishing in America. And to replenish our nation’s fish stocks and to advance cooperative conservation and responsible stewardship,” Mr. Bush said.
Shrugging off the matter, Bush later stated that fishing is a much better alternative than hunting with guns considering Cheney's affinity towards shooting 'friends' in the face...
On this, his first visit to Mr. Cheney’s St. Michaels home, a popular weekend getaway spot for Washington V.I.P., Laura Bush went on ahead to lunch while he signed the order. “Guess you could say she’s the taster,”
......
“I love to fish. And the good news, there’s a lot of good fishing here, is because the Secret Service won’t let me go hunting with him.” NYTimes, The Caucus
But don't worry...if Bush doesn't catch more fish than Putin did on vacation...it's the Secret Service frogmens' fault..
.“I hope that frogman out there does his job.” Perhaps that was a reference to the lighthearted rumor circulating that Russian President Vladimir Putin had help during a fishing trip with the president and his father over the summer.
Damn cheaters. The only fishing the President seems to be doing is 'fishing' for a reason to attack Iran. Save US all. Bush has a ONE TRACK MIND..and that mind is fixated on WWIII with Iran.

George Bush has lost his mind. Worse, 76 percent of the populace know he has. Nonetheless the 'resident in the Oval Office' is warning leading western nations that if Iran even attempts of acquiring 'knowledge' of nuclear weapons...there will be 'meaningful consequences'...."World War III".

The man has gone completely off the deep end. Delusional. World leaders Do Not talk about creating the pretext for World War III. This man has a one track mind and that mind is currently being preoccupied with 'World War III with Iran'.

How low can they go? Approval ratings: Bush 24% Congress 11%

Six years of 'compassionate conservatism', 'Bush diplomacy', and the 'House of Pelosi' has given rise to a 'throw the bums out' mindset'. According to the Reuters/Zogby Index poll numbers released on Wednesday, America is unhappy and our policymakers have become pathetic and almost completely worthless to US.

When is enough, Enough? When will Americans stand up and demand Action. Our infrastructure in crumbling, our enonomy is in shambles, our 'inalienable' rights are rapidly becoming privileges, our health care system is broken, our schools are declining, corporations are running the war(s)... Come on, America, are we playing a silly game of 'how low can they go'? These people do not represent US. They do not represent change and progress. They are addicted to the Status Quo. When is enough, Enough?
"There is a real question among Americans now about how relevant this government is to them,.. They tell us they want action on health care, education, the war and immigration, but they don't believe they are going to get it."

"Americans are still feeling good about a number of things in their lives, but not about the government's leadership...They are giving up on this government." pollster John Zogby
According to 991 likely voters,
The Reuters/Zogby Index (RZI), which measures the mood of the country, also fell from 98.8 to 96 -- the second consecutive month it has dropped. The number of Americans who believe the country is on the wrong track jumped four points to 66 percent.

Bush's job approval rating fell to 24 percent from last month's record low for a Zogby poll of 29 percent. A paltry 11 percent gave Congress a positive grade, tying last month's record low.
on foreign policy...
18 percent gave positive marks..down from 24 percent
on the economy...
26 percent rated economic policy positively..down from 30 percent
"The public mood is not just dark. What's darker than dark?" Zogby said. "The mood is getting ugly." reuters
What the RZI and Zogby didn't say is...Ugly means WAR. The lower these numbers fall the closer we come to another War provided by George "dubya" Bush and Richard "the Dick" Cheney. ...and just think, we could have had Gore. George Bush is by far the worst President the Supreme Court ever elected.

George Bush Warning: World War III if Iran goes "nuklr"

The President says "boom". On Wednesday, Bush warned world leaders that they must prevent Iran from gaining nuclear weapons...but only...
"if you're interested in avoiding World War III."

"We've got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel," Bush said at a White House press conference after Russia cautioned against military action against Tehran's suspect atomic program.

"So I've told people that, if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon," said Bush. news.yahoo

I have an idea. If the world wants to prevent World War III make sure Bush and his cronies DO NOT have access to nuclear weapons.

The Bush administration is increasing their rhetoric towards war with Iran. The war plans have been laid on all sides. Does one really think that the "decider man" hasn't already made up his mind. We are going to war. Period.

Soon your television screens will be flashing images of "pin point" bombings..through window, chimneys, and ventilator shafts. The "lucky" Iranian truck driver who narrowly escaped the bridge being struck by a missile. The amazing air strikes by the "new" Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) fleet.

Damn, Democracy is in shambles.... "Operation Capture More Oil" has started...again. Under the Bush REGIME we have invaded two countries, made a colony out of Iraq, privatized the military, entered into a '100 year' war of terror, re started the second Cold War with Russia, and now...It's wartime again. Folks, remember...these chickenhawks fight wars with our children, not their own.

"Mission Accomplished" Redux..this time Bush has "Destoryed Al Qaeda in Iraq"

"America has one goal in the war on global terrorism: "It's victory -- unconditional, unapologetic and unyielding," Donald Rumsfeld 2005
The Washington Post is reporting the Pentagon is expected to release a raving review of US military forces progress against Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). In short..it's expected to be the second round of Bush and Cheney's famous "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq...this time Bush, following General David Petraeus' pseudo plan, he has 'crippled' AQI.

Before everybody gets all crazy about what the Pentagon is hypothetically going to say, let's take a moment and reflect on what Donald Rumsfeld had said about "accomplishing" the "mission" in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2005.
MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla., Oct. 12, 2005 – Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld suggested to military men and women at a town hall meeting here Oct. 11 how they might answer questions stemming from "growing confusion and some misunderstanding" about the global war on terror.

Speaking to a group of airmen from the 6th Air Mobility Wing and other service members from U.S. Central Command and U.S. Southern Command, Rumsfeld noted that the troops might be getting questions from others about what America is trying to accomplish in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Well, you can tell those who ask such questions that you and your friends across the world are standing on the front lines to protect them and to safeguard their freedoms, as well as your own

a
nd you can tell them something else: that America is not what's wrong with this world...What's wrong with this world are the terrorists, the 'beheaders,' the hostage-takers, the assassins -- the people our forces are fighting every day in a number of locations -- they're what's wrong with the world. And our country's finest men and women are out there meeting them every day.

it is not the mission of the U.S. military to "cower behind illusory defenses" because "defenses don't work." The only defense is to go on the offensive, to stop terrorists before they attack America.

Your mission is to be on the offense; it's to go on the attack and that's what our forces are doing: they're engaging the enemy where they live so that they do not attack us where we live."

America has one goal in the war on global terrorism: It's victory -- unconditional, unapologetic and unyielding...

You fight today so that our children and their children might not have to experience the heartbreak of something like Sept. 11th and the men and women in uniform -- you and your associates all across the globe -- are displaying resolute courage, the kind of courage that's defined our country through the generations. defenselink
and just in case the White House and Pentagon want to start ridiculing our former Generals that are speaking out on the war..remember Rummey's advice
it's service members' responsibility to speak up about what they believe.
Save Democracy from the Monarchy, but be careful...as General Odierno recently stated, it only takes three people" to construct and detonate a suicide car bomb that can "kill thousands."....thump thump thump..the constant drumbeat of fear continues...

It's Monday morning...Do you know where the 'resident in the oval office' was this weekend? You guessed it. But don't worry...his 'experts' assure US he's doing a lot more than just clearing brush. According to them, he's always working when he is at the Western White House.

This time...it's a Free Trade vacation..

Bush arrived Friday afternoon aboard Air Force One at the TSTC Airport in Waco. Saturday Bush was busy pushing free trade, as part of his weekly radio address.
From his ranch in Crawford, the President urged congress to pass deals with four countries saying expanding trade will keep the economy expanding and support high-paying jobs.

Agreements with Peru and Panama are considered likely to pass. But deals with Colombia and South Korea are both seen as unstable. kcentv

American Monarchy or American Democracy?

The United States might not have a Monarchy, but for 40 % of all Americans it might feel like it. Bush, Clinton, Bush...Clinton??? It sure is starting to sound like one. A recent article from the Associated Press reveals some rather startling statistics on the state of our American democratic system. Here are a few excerpts

"We now have a younger generation and middle-age generation who are going to think about national politics through the Bush-Clinton prism," said Princeton University political historian Julian Zelizer, 37, whose first chance to vote for president was 1988, the year the first President Bush was elected. And as for the question of fatigue, Zelizer added: "It's not just that we've heard their names a lot, but we've had a lot of problems with their names."

And now, if Hillary Clinton were to be elected and re-elected, the nation could go 28 years in a row with the same two families governing the country. Add the elder Bush's terms as vice president, and that would be 36 years straight with a Bush or Clinton in the White House.

Already, for 116 million Americans, there has never been a time when there wasn't a Bush or Clinton in the White House, either as president or vice president.

Does a nation of 303 million people really have only two families qualified to run the show?

Raising concern on the "two dynasties" and the state of America's democracy David Gergen and Todd Gitlin responded,

"I think we would be fundamentally healthier if we broadened the zone of candidates who could make it to the top...Historically, politics has been open to newcomers who rise up to reflect the grass-roots sentiment of the country...That's still possible, but it's harder than it used to be, especially because it's so hard to raise money" David Gergen, director of Harvard University's Center for Public Leadership

"...while some people are bothered by the dominance of the two families..right now there is one massive fatigue in America and that is with George Bush. No other fatigue comes close... I think democracy should be more expansive." Todd Gitlin, a professor at Columbia University's School of Journalism

American Democracy has been subverted. For over 2 decades, in some amazing bout of statistically impossible madness, the American populace has chosen either a Bush or a Clinton. I'm not a statistician, but I know the probabilities of that occurring is low. An even lower probability would be is if all graduated from the same Ivy League University. They have..Guess which one...Yale.

Please America..not another Yalie in '08.

Stop the Monarchy...Free Democracy

Please Hear the Drumbeat, Cheney's Rocking out

The drumbeat to a military confrontation with Iran is intensifying. The same players from different scandals are all 'preaching' the same rhetoric as they did before the Iraq war. The marching orders towards Iran are 'active'...Please America...wake up.

All the puzzle pieces are falling into place. Remember Cheney's 'meaningful consequences'..
"The Iranian regime needs to know that if it stays on its present course, the international community is prepared to impose meaningful consequences. (Applause.) For our part, the United States is keeping all options on the table in addressing the irresponsible conduct of the regime. (Applause.) And we join other nations in sending that regime a clear message: We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon." full transcript
"Given the fact that Iran has a stated policy that their objective is the destruction of Israel, the Israelis might well decide to act first, and let the rest of the world worry about cleaning up the diplomatic mess afterwards," Cheney said in 2005
Iran WILL NOT be allowed to continue with their nuclear facilities and enrichment programs. IAEA regulations and UN resolutions move to slowly within our rapidly changing multi polar international world. The bureaucracy will tie up action within the UN. Meanwhile, Israel and the west will have already acted. Cheney's 'meaningful consequences' will have occurred. They will not wait for approval.

Listen to their drumbeat...This is not the "last throes of the insurgency". A military confrontation with Iran will not lead to "mission accomplished" Iran will not play tit for tat..they will go for broke. War will be asymmetrical.

In the words of Clausewitz, "politics is war by other means" . According to the Bush regime, the time for politics is over...war seems inevitable. Odd considering they haven't even tried diplomacy. Please..America..listen to the drumbeat.

Hi, my name is Barack Obama, They call me 'Intellectually Lazy'

I was completely shocked when I read this article by Bill Sammon, the Senior White House Correspondent for the Examiner. With the 'surge assessment' SOLD, the Bush administration appears to be setting their eyes on the democratic field of presidential candidates. In short, they're going 'quail hunting'. Their chosen target....the freshman senator from Illinois , Barack Obama.

As for Obama, a senior White House official said the freshman senator from Illinois was "capable" of the intellectual rigor needed to win the presidency but instead relies too heavily on his easy charm.

"It's sort of like, 'that's all I need to get by,' which bespeaks sort of a condescending attitude towards the voters," said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity. "And a laziness, an intellectual laziness."

He cited an example from Obama's memoir, The Audacity of Hope, in which the senator complains that many "government programs don't work as advertised." Five days after the book was published last fall, Obama was asked to name some of those government programs by Tim Russert on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"And he can't give an example," the official said. "Look, if you wrote the book, you should have thought through what it was. But he's sitting there, fumbling around."

No. No...they did not just say that. Are you kidding me? Perhaps the "senior White House" source should first look inward, then spew his/her rhetoric. The idiot continued on..

Nor does Obama know his facts very well, according to the senior White House official. The official said in March, Obama was flummoxed by questions about his health care plan at a Democratic forum in Las Vegas. Two months later, the candidate drastically overstated the death toll from Kansas tornadoes.

"Ten thousand people died," Obama told an audience, when the actual death toll was 12.

"Over time, we'll see other things like that," the White House official said. "I'm going to be validated on Barack. He's not done the hard work necessary to prepare himself. And it's too late to do it."

I have a little advice for this 'senior White House official' . Look at Bush! Are you blind or just a complete partisan zealot? Wait..I know the answer

The 'resident in the oval office' has been by far the most ' intellectually lazy' person of them all. Worse, he hasn't given US one thing 'as advertised'. To take on Obama in this way is pathetic. The Bush administration has consistently sold US one 'lemon' on top of the other. When their 'salesman' don't work out they shift salespeople. $hit the Pentagon hired a PR firm to sell the surge, we've had 3-4 Press secretaries, too many generals in Iraq to count...the list continues of mis 'advertised' strategy.

What Obama is 'selling' is hope, change, and a return to dialogue. I am not an Obama supporter, but I am sympathetic to his message. America has been sold the same crap by the same people for over three decades. These 'experts' have driven the U.S. to a period of crisis. D.C. needs a 'house cleaning'. The GOP has succumbed to the power of the neo conservative 'academics' which has been advertising their message through the pulpit.

Our government is broken and we are applying band aids to a system that is crumbling down around US. Each band aid creates another problem.

So, unlike the GOP, who obviously want to engineer a showdown between Hillary and some GOP idiot, I'll judge for myself who is 'advertising' best. Do I want another Yalie in the Oval Office or someone else? That's easy..28 consecutive years of Yalies in the oval office is way too long.

I want a candidate who has proved he is WILLING to LEARN on the job. A candidate that is not 'intellectually lazy' like our current 'resident'. A candidate who doesn't stumble over the word 'nuklar'. A candidate that has enough character to recolonize his/her mistakes. That candidate just might be...Barack Obama.

Pakistan..Butter up the popcorn. It's your turn for the 'bush Laden' Show

When can you trust a lawmaker? It depends....are you listening to Liaquat Baluch, from the Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), a major political alliance of religious groups in Pakistan. The coalition is strongly opposed to the Musharraf regime and want him ousted. When asked to give a response on the recent 'new' bin Laden tape controversy , he retorts,
"This is an attempt to turn people's sympathies in favor of Gen. Pervez Musharraf but such tactics are not going to work. I am sure that the video is a fake and made in America" iht 9/20
Get used to saying those words over and over again, Mr. Baluch. This is your first tape! We here in the west have been listening and watching this subversion for years. Prepare yourself for the show. Butter up your popcorn, settle into your sofa, turn down the lights, and watch another cheap production..produced via 'al Qaeda' with special guest appearances of the 'terrorists of the day'.

We've seen sick Osama, healthy Osama, slim gray bearded Osama, fat fake bearded Osama...We've had freeze frame with audio, freeze frame without audio, video with flames, streaming banners, and oh..can't forget about the backgrounds. Osama in the mountains, Osama in dark room, Osama in a bright room, Osama in the Lincoln bedroom. OK. Just thought I'd try to throw that one in there.

Guess what, Mr. Baluch, it's Pakistan's turn. Time for the 'ghost of bush Laden' to scare the crap out of your populace. Be careful...he may force all 160 million of you to...
'go shopping'. Call it an import. You've just received the package via anonymous courier from 'the ghost of bin Laden'

Little hint from the West...the 'ghost of bush Laden' appears during
  1. US Election cycles
  2. When Bush doesn't get his way
  3. Neo conservative political scandals
  4. Major anniversary dates for the US
  5. when 'propped up' Musharraf begins to have trouble subverting his illegal re election.
Don't be afraid. Keep pushing for your Democracy. Give Mush the boot and free yourself from the deviant grasps of the neoconservative, war profiteering, Bush Cabal.

Perhaps after a few more 'fake' bin Laden tapes we can all come together, get our costume party kits, and play 'Who Looks More Like Osama' this time? ( there's a entrepreneurial concept ). Mr. Baluch, just remember...it could get worse at anytime... if 'bush Laden' fails....Musharraf might import another dreaded program to fear your populace ...the idiot O'Reilly.

The Carlyle/Haliburton Show is Shifting into 'OVERDRIVE'

There is something interesting going on, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Yesterday it was reported in the International Herald Tribune that a deal had been completed between the government of Dubai to own a 20 percent ownership stake in the Nasdaq and roughly a 30 percent stake in London. The deal sounds sketchy, right? Because it is.

If this deal is completed it would be the first time that a Middle Eastern government would OWN a large part of the 'exchanges'. This raises many red flags. Should we really be allowing foreign governments to be 'purchasing' ownership stakes into the our stock exchange, London's?

To get a better picture of this deal perhaps we should remember the DP World fiasco in 2005. DP? That stands for "DUBAI ports world". The very company that the Bush administration tried to ram through in '05 is back at it again. This is ridiculous..the Bush/Cheney operation tried to give them access to our ports and it failed. Now they're doing the same but, with our financial system. Are you beginning to get the stench of the Carlyle Group, yet?

This proposed deal is being accomplished through a unique trading scheme. Deals that the SEC should not even consider. Straight to the trash can...but no...
..in May, Nasdaq announced that it had reached agreement to buy the OMX Group for $3.7 billion. But in August, Borse Dubai, the parent company of the Dubai International Financial Exchange came in with a higher bid.

In the deal that is expected to be announced Thursday, Borse Dubai will complete the purchase of the OMX Group and then hand it over to Nasdaq in exchange for at least a 19 percent share in the New York exchange and Nasdaq's stake of about 30 percent in the London Stock Exchange, which is valued at about $1.8 billion. IHT 9/20

Through a complex set of transactions, Borse Dubai will become a shareholder in Nasdaq and Nasdaq will become a strategic shareholder in the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX). Steps will be taken to allow DIFX to be rebranded with the Nasdaq name. Borse Dubai will purchase a 28 per cent stake in the London Stock Exchange (LSE) from Nasdaq and Nasdaq will win control of OMX, given that all the necessary regulatory conditions are met. Khaleej Times 9/21
Here is the extremely interesting part to me. Remember the Carlyle Group? The highly controversial private global investment firm who all the ' big names ' consult for. The company who placed their HQ in Washington, DC "so it wouldn't get lost in the crowd of New York investment firms". The company that bought out the bin Laden's family shares in the company after Sept 11, 2001. Well..there making news again. and what perfect timing they have. I suspect their hand in the 'odd Nasdaq trade' with Dubai.

In an article in the Washington Post this morning , "Carlyle is selling part of its stake to Abu Dhabi".
Private-equity giant Carlyle Group said yesterday that it is selling a 7.5 percent share of its general partnership to an investment group owned by the government of Abu Dhabi.
.......
Some of the countries[in the UAE] once sought to buy assets outright, but after the outcry over a bid to take over management of a U.S. ports operator, many have pursued less visible strategic investments with KEY firms.

Some of the countries once sought to buy assets outright, but after the outcry over a bid to take over management of a U.S. ports operator, many have pursued less visible strategic investments with key firms.
Of all the emirates of the UAE, Abu Dhabi is by far the richest. Her 420,000 citizens are estimated to have a monetary worth of $17 million each. In short, Abu Dhabi makes the Hampton's feel like Compton in the 80's.

Excuse me here...but this is some crazy $hit. Carlyle is making out like a bandit while the market is crumbling. While the markets rupture it seems to me like they're shoring up capital and wielding the 'hands of capitalism' to their whim. Wait..David M. Rubenstein,Carlyle co-founder, just said that at the Private Equity Analyst Conference in New York on the 19th
"I don't know if we are going to go public or no....This gives us the flexibility to say yes or no, we don't want to. The reason you go public is to get permanent capital to do a lot of things. But NOW we have permanent capital." Washington Post 9/21
Tom Taulli, author of The Edgar Online Guide to Decoding Financial Statements explains Carlyle Group's newsworthy deal in excellent fashion with his brief analysis on Blogging Buyouts
the firm has snagged a $1.35 billion private investment from Mubadala Development Company, which is part of Abu Dhabi. Essentially, this places a hefty $20 billion valuation on Carlyle.

It's an important move. Carlyle wants to have a permanent source of capital, which can help with minority investment opportunities and even buying up other private equity firms.

Plus, in order to keep up the growth momentum, Carlyle needs to expand into new markets, such as the Middle East.

America. Please wake up! The Carlyle/Haliburton show is shifting into 'OVERDRIVE' and our media is silent.

Pakistan: 'Bush Whacking' Democracy in less than 15 Days

The summer in Pakistan has been wild. First off, its election time. Musharraf who installed himself as President after a bloodless coup in 1999, is running AGAIN despite the reality that he can not. This has thrown Pakistan into complete chaos.

In a pathetic attempt to stay in power Musharraf is subverting democracy in every way possible. September has been full of confusion on the micro level, but on the macro level it's easy to see the subversion in action.
In effect, while Musharraf does a Lalu on his country, Negroponte is doing a Honduras on Pakistan. Times of India 9/15
Pakistan is critical to the war on terror. The United States must keep Musharraf in power or the entire 'network' on the war on terror breaks down. So, what is their strategy? In short..subversion..check this out.

Nawaz Sharif declares he's coming back to Pakistan. This leads Saudi Arabia and the United States to send their top officials to Pakistan IMMEDIATELY. While in Pakistan the situation was tense awaiting Sharif's moves. Would he actually get on the plane?
an official said last night "There are crisis meetings going on around the clock. No final decision has been made. It probably won't be made until the last minute... "Let's see first whether Sharif gets on the plane. We've then got eight hours to decide." The Australian 9/10
Sharif's announcement led Pakistan anti terror courts sent out a message that they were preparing VIP prison cells for Sharif's arrival. Sharif's brother was accused of murder charges and faced imprisonment if he came back with his brother. Undeterred by the threats, Sharif boarded a plane and headed to Pakistan on Sept 10th.
"My ambition is very clear, I have to take Pakistan back to the rule of democracy, because unless we have this, we will continue to be in a state of mess as we are today," he [Sharif] told reporters on the plane as they waited for takeoff. Reuters 9/10
While in the air, Musharraf cracked down on his supporters and sealed the airport. When Sharif landed his plane was boarded...he was taken into custody...and sent to Saudi Arabia for another 3 years in exile. Problem solved, right?

Nope. Sharif has roughly 160 million supporters...Supporters of DEMOCRACY. They want honest representation. They want Sharif. If not Sharif, Bhutto will do. But this is another problem all together. This has completely threatened Musharraf and forced him to take dramatic measures to stay in power.

Musharraf has done everything possible in a extremely short time. From broken down power sharing agreements with Bhutto, to stating that he will be elected by HIS government, not the new.

In the most recent turn of events, the courts, who are no friend to Musharraf, have stated that he can not hold both the army Chief title and Presidency concurrently....funny thing is, according to the Pakisani constitution...if Musharraf resigns from his military post he would be ineligible to run for political office for 2 years. This would effectively render his election bid USELESS. So what did they come up with...

They've suggested having his wife run for President and he stay on as Army chief. This brings us to another rather peculiar situation. His wife Sehba has no political experience. NONE. She is Harvard educated, has lived in London for 8 years and their sons in the United States. Chicago, I believe. This arrangement was quickly dismissed though. But...

If this situation does occur, it would bring about the 'battle of the wives' . You see after Sharif was RE-exiled on the 10th, Kulsoom Sharif, said she would 'follow in the footsteps of his[Nawaz] footsteps' and bring the 'oxygen of democracy' to a people asphyxiating under a dictatorship.' Later adding 'I will see how they will stop me'..'I am not under the same restrictions as Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif.

It's unbelievable what is occurring. Just remember..this all has occurred in roughly 15 days! Musharraf, under the advice of Negroponte and Boucher are completely 'bushwhacking' democracy in Pakistan.
The mastermind of this Made-in-USA arrangement is said to be former intelligence czar and Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte, who is credited with managing delicate regime changes in Latin America.

Negroponte and his state department colleague, Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher, were very much in the picture in Islamabad when the Musharraf regime forcibly deported Nawaz Sharif with help from Bush ally, the House of Sad, in contravention of the Supreme Court ruling
Times of India 9/15
and today, Sept 20th...it gets much more interesting. Reuters is reporting a new Osama Bin Laden video where he 'Declares war on Musharraf and the Pakistani army.'

I guess somebody was paying attention...Bin Laden. Pakistan is being 'bush whacked'.

video: Bhutto predicts 'upheaval' without proper elections.
