Michigan GOP chair is an A$$..calls Obama... "pet rock of the election" What an A-Hole

I'll take a pet rock any day over any of these GOP swine. A "pet rock" will never lie, cheat, steal, or subvert the American people unlike the "compassionate conservatism" of the GOP.

From The Trail,

No Obamamania from Michigan GOP Chair

By Juliet Eilperin
TAYLOR, Mich. -- Michigan GOP Chairman Saul Anuzis has a new nickname for Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.): "pet rock."

Speaking to a gathering of GOP stalwarts tonight, Anuzis conceded the presidential hopeful was loveable and popular. But that just makes him, in Anuzis' eyes, "the pet rock of the 2008 campaign."

"At the end of the day, we're going to figure out it's just a rock," Anuzis told the crowd, prompting a few laughs. "He's just another typical liberal senator who wants to be president of the United States."

No telling which Democratic presidential candidate will earn the nickname "Chia Pet" in the days to come.

"pet rock", Sad..first they called him "intellectually lazy", now it's "pet rock". Lil' hint...surrender the fantasy GOP. Next, you'll be calling him Mr. President! WE, Obama and Edwards are coming to town! It's time for CHANGE!

McCain peers into Rudy's soul..sees horrible judge in character

Indicted on 14 counts of being a sleazy, corrupt, lying, cheat, Bernard Kerik, was Rudy's right hand man. Being Rudy's, other half, had its perks. From becoming Rudy's driver to New York City police commissioner to urging the WH to promote him to Homeland Security chief, Kerik was riding the Rudy wave. Not anymore...and John McCain wants everybody to know how Rudy was behind Kerik's rise. McCain is even blaming Rudy for part of the Iraq debacle.

From the AP,
Bernard Kerik did an irresponsible job training police in Iraq, presidential contender John McCain said Friday
.....
McCain cited Kerik's relationship with his Republican presidential foe as a reason to doubt Giuliani's judgment
.....
McCain...pointed to Kerik's performance in Iraq, along with complaints about how Giuliani treated first-responders after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, as reasons why the former mayor's presidential campaign should deserve greater scrutiny from voters.
and now from the mouth of McCain himself,
"I don't know Mr. Kerik. I do know that I went to Baghdad shortly after the initial victory and met in Baghdad with (Ambassador Paul) Bremer and (Lt. Gen. Ricardo) Sanchez. And Kerik was there. Kerik was supposed to be there to help train the police force. He stayed two months and one day left, just up and left," McCain told reporters traveling on his campaign bus.

"That's why I never would've supported him to be the head of homeland security because of his irresponsible act when he was over in Baghdad to try and help train the police. One of the reasons why we had so much trouble with the initial training of the police was because he came, didn't do anything and then went out to the airport and left." Read the entire article (it's worth it)
Oh my God! I agree with McCain. Good point, John...Rudy has a horrible judge of character. Just like Bush, he looks into peoples eyes and sees their soul. Unless that soul is corrupt..these 'men' want nothing to do with you. Rudy is just as complicit in Kerik's dirty pursuits. He is part of Giuliani as Giuliani is part of him. They are both corrupt. It's a Dog eat Dog World...let US be happy the GOP 'dogs' are beginning to eat each other.

Go Blue in '08...just not Hillary

The GOP perversion continues..Cross Dressing GOP WA Rep. caught in sex scandal

Say it isn't so...Another GOP sex scandal? Yup, Washington State Representative Richard Curtis (R-LaCenter) was just 'busted' and like Sen. Craig..."he's not gay".

From KXLY,
State Representative Richard Curtis says he's not gay, but police reports and court records indicate the Republican lawmaker from southwestern Washington dressed up in women's lingerie and met a Medical Lake man in a local erotic video store which led to consensual sex at a downtown hotel and a threat to expose Curtis' activities publicly.
.....
A search warrant (video) unsealed Tuesday morning disclosed that State Representative Richard Curtis (R - La Center) had sex in his room at the Davenport Tower with a man identified as Cody Castagna, 26, of Medical Lake, who he met at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique on October 26th.

Curtis, according to a search warrant unsealed Tuesday, went to the Hollywood Erotic Boutique on East Sprague on October 26th at approximately 12:45 a.m.
And now for the great part,
The store clerk, who had talked with Curtis, referred to him as "The Cross-Dresser" and said that during their conversations he confirmed he was gay and was married with children at home.
.....
During his visit to the video store Curtis was observed wearing women's lingerie while receiving oral sex from an unidentified man in one of the movie viewing booths inside the store.
hehehe. Great family values, those GOPers have, eh. They just love the "compassionate conservatism".

and a few more of the 'juicy' details,
Afterward he met Cody Castagna, and they talked about getting together at Curtis' hotel room to have sex.
....
police reports confirm Curtis and Castagna had anal intercourse after which Curtis fell asleep. Castagna, according to court records, then allegedly took Curtis' wallet out of his jacket pocket and left the room.
It's 'Extortion Time' (another video),
Around 7 a.m. he called Curtis and told him he knew he was a member of the Washington State House of Representatives and was married, that he had taken pictures of Curtis with a camera on his cellphone and he offered to return the wallet in exchange for $1,000.
.....
The attempt to get his wallet back proved unsuccessful as Castagna called Curtis back later on the 26th and demanded the remaining $800 from him. Unbeknownst to Castagna at the time Curtis had already contacted Spokane police and a detective was present with Curtis when Castagna called again.
.....
During the call Castagna not only demanded $800 for the return of Curtis' wallet but also said the money would buy his silence, implying that without the money he would expose Curtis' gay lifestyle to his wife. Curtis admitted to police that if details of the incident became public he would have to tell his wife and would need to hire a divorce attorney.

Following the phone call arranging for the return of the wallet police officers set up surveillance of the location where Curtis' billfold was to be dropped and subsequently recovered it.

Castagna offered a completely different view of the events that happened on October 26th in several interviews with detectives. Castagna claimed that Curtis had met him at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique and later at Curtis' hotel room offered him $1,000 in exchange for sex, adding that while he was in Curtis' room at the Davenport Tower Curtis rented two XXX-rated gay movies for the two to watch. After the two had sex, Castagna claimed that Curtis gave him his wallet as collateral to hold on to until he gave him the remainder of the $1,000.
Ha. The GOP are full of 'closeted' liars. So typical of a 'republican'...Don't be so cheap if you're gonna participate in cross dressing gay love affairs while your wife and children are asleep at home. Cheap, dirty bastard. Add another to the LIST.

$10 million dollar Bat Mitzvahs for your daughter via the U.S. Government

Maybe it's just me, but I love the headline. I just don't like the outcome. According to Selim Alfar and Andy Geller of the NYPost,
The former CEO of the leading supplier of body armor to U.S. soldiers in Iraq was charged yesterday with looting the company to bankroll a lavish lifestyle that included a $10 million bat mitzvah for his daughter.

In addition to the bat mitzvah - which included performances by Aerosmith, 50 Cent, Tom Petty, Kenny G and the Eagles - prosecutors said David Brooks got the firm, DHB Industries, to pay for other goodies.

Among them were a face lift for his ex-wife; vitamins for his stable of 100 horses; pricey vacations; fancy jewels; an armored car; a $194,000 Bentley; and a $100,000 diamond-studded belt buckle.

The elaborate scheme exploded yesterday when federal prosecutors unsealed a 21-count indictment accusing Brooks, 53, of securities fraud, insider trading, tax evasion and obstruction of justice. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Sandra Hatfield, 54, the company's former chief operating officer, was hit with similar charges.

Brooks founded DHB, which moved from Westbury, L.I., to Pompano Beach, Fla., last year, and served as its chairman and chief executive officer. He resigned last year as the scandal erupted.

According to the indictment, Brooks lined his pockets by having DHB underwrite his lifestyle and by artificially inflating the value of company stock.

He allegedly reaped $185 million by selling DHB stock when he learned that 6,000 bullet-proof vests the company made were about to be recalled for being faulty and not able to block bullets.

Hatfield, who left the firm in 2005, allegedly made $5 million in the scheme.

Brooks also was accused of evading taxes by giving money to charities he ran.

Brooks made headlines in November 2005, when he rented two floors of the Rainbow Room for the bat mitzvah of his daughter, Elizabeth.

He reportedly sent the company jet to fly Aerosmith in from Pittsburgh, paying them a cool $1 million. In return, they let his nephew play drums.

In honor of the band's appearance, Brooks changed from a black leather suit into a magenta suede biker outfit covered with chains.

The indictment said the body-armor tycoon spent $122,000 of company cash on iPods and digital cameras for his guests. It also revealed he shelled out $20,000 for leather-bound invitations to his son's bar mitzvah in 2000.

Brooks pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in federal court in Central Islip, L.I., and was held without bail pending a hearing Monday.

His lawyer, Paul Shechtman, said Brooks "grew up in Brooklyn and that means he doesn't run away from a fight. (I hope he rots in jail)

Shechtman asked for bail of a mere $50 million. Prosecutor John Martin asked that no bail be granted, calling Brooks a serious flight risk. NYPost

It must be nice. Having all your "bills" plus an extravaganza for your daughter & son, via the U.S. government. You can have it, too. All you have to do is be a corrupt businessman with great connections to the U.S. government. Houses, cars, jewels, horses, bat & bar mitzvahs..all expenses paid. Cheap, conservatives *&^#$)&s are only cheap when it comes to US.

Does the GOP still exist? or are they all Neo Cons now?

Who are the GOP representing? They're obviously not representing Muslims, African Americans, Latin Americans, or the middle class. I'm not sure they even have a 'base' anymore, The Christian Right is throwing their abortion hissy fit, the Minutemen are on revolt about immigration, and the military is turning sour on the war. America, the GOP is in trouble...and it's a good thing.

For decades the GOP have been 'preaching' to US. Telling US this is good and that is bad, meanwhile they've led their party into the ground. Countless ethics scandals, bathroom escapades, etc. Once propped up by Newt's Contract with America and the Religious Right the GOP ran the the show. Now those that prowl the halls of Congress have been led astray. They've gone to... as Cheney states, "the shadows"

The "shadows" are the back room deals, arm twisting hospital visits, illegal wiretapping, they are the politics behind the the 'culture of war'. Cheney, known for his Machiavellian and secretive ways has 'preached' nothing other than war and oil..perhaps a 'little' increase in the power of the executive, but beyond that..Cheney's doctrine is war. This culture has permeated throughout the GOP. Instead of capitalizing on their past victories with the religious right they've cast themselves away from those groups that once united them. Instead they settled into 'Rovian' partisan politics. They settled for talking points and 'Bush Diplomacy' forgetting the 'base' that brought them into power.

The party line...Gives away absolutely nothing to BushCo's war on terror. Nothing is negotiable. These wars are holding the GOP hostage. Unless they break away from Bush now, the GOP is finished. We might as well just call them what they are, America's new third party...the Neo Conservative Party.

Bush and Cheney and their neo conservative cronies have completely subverted the GOP. They've used religion as a 'tool' in their quest for power. Now that they have their desired power nothing is to prevent them from wildest dreams. We are now witnessing their 'vision' of how the world should function, not how the world does function.

Return Democracy to the People...Return Democracy to the Democrats, just not Hilliary.

Fred Thompson and his Lazy "4 minute speech"

Fred Thompson is something else. He's a former Senator, an actor, a 'shady' lawyer, a K street lobbyist..and a grandpa..I mean dad with a 'hot', young wife. But Fred doesn't have it all. Fred lacks patience and 'likability'. Let's just say this, when the charisma wagon rolled by...Thompson was nowhere to be found. He was probably 'lazing' around waiting for the Presidency to fall in his lap.

Here's an excellent example of Fred's impatience for politics, his laziness to campaign, his unwillingness to 'stump', his preoccupation with glamour instead of politics....I give you Fred Thompson, " the reluctant candidate"...

Giuliani spoke..McCain spoke..Mitt spoke, and Fred...well...When it became his time to address the Florida Republican Party at their biggest annual event...
....the crowd was primed, having listened to his rivals deliver speeches, lasting about 20 minutes each, that the candidates each obviously thought played to their strengths.

Mr. Thompson walked slowly onto the stage, kissed his wife, Jeri, on the cheek, made a joke or two, claimed to be a “consistent conservative” — and said good night. He spoke for four minutes.

“I was really kind of shocked,” said Linda Hoffman, 47, who wore stickers for all the candidates on her blazer, reflecting her indecision. “We were all hoping he would say something we could get behind, but there was nothing.” NYT, the Caucus
Lazy old bastard...perhaps Fred, just isn't Fred without all the make up, cameras, huge Hollywood paycheck and his little red truck.

Lining Rudy's Pockets: Giuliani's Dirty Donors

Who feeds Rudy Giuliani's campaign? In other words..Who lines this mans filthy pockets. Guess who Rudy's three largest donors are? A 'shady' hedge fund, a 'shady' accounting firm, and 'shady' Swiss Bank. Get it..they're all shady.

12 ex U.S. Army Captians "Staying in Iraq means REINSTATING the DRAFT"

Rudy represents the new "Gilded Age of America"..the age of the money, the uber rich, the banks...the corporations. Greed and power is paramount. He is 'Bushness' as usual.

First...coming in with $225,850 we have Elliot Management. Created in '77 by Paul E. Singer, Elliot Management prides themselves as being... "a private investment partnership involved in a diversified trading program."

Diversified they are. Check out their most recent 2007 SEC filing
Elliott means action: Hedge fund firm Elliott Management takes an activist approach to investing, frequently amassing significant but minority stakes in distressed or underperforming companies, and attempting to foment change. The firm manages hedge funds Elliott Associates and Elliott International, which together manage more than $8 billion of capital for large institutional investors and wealthy individuals and families. hoovers
Want some more information from them? Give 'em yours first..they want to check you out before they hand out any information. Besides being extremely private...it appears many links that refer to them are just "dead". Tricky company, eh? Here are a few of their lobbyists

Elliot Management has also provided rudy with great private transport, as well,
Rudolph W. Giuliani, the Republican former mayor of New York, has paid more than $175,000 during the first half of the year for flights on jets leased by Elliott Asset Management, a company owned by Paul E. Singer, a hedge fund executive who is one of Mr. Giuliani’s main backers. corpwatch
Rudy's second highest contributor, Ernst & Young, coming in at $213,500, is another dubious company. Ernst & Young prides themselves as "Quality In Everything We Do". Interesting motto considering their 'shady' relationship with once again..private equity, Bush pioneers, tax shelters, and undermining Sarbanes- Oxley

Ernst & Young
Ernst & Young is one of the world’s largest accounting firms, offering its clients everything from auditing services to tax advice. Over the years, the firm has successfully led efforts to block increased federal oversight of the accounting industry. Yet the collapse of Enron and the corporate scandals that followed have largely put the company on the defensive. In 2002, the Securities and Exchange Commission sued Ernst & Young, accusing the firm of violating ethics rules when it was the chief auditor of one of its key business partners, PeopleSoft. At the same time, federal investigators launched efforts to crack down on companies that avoid taxes by incorporating in Bermuda or other offshore tax havens—a practice that has generated plenty of revenue for Ernst & Young over the years. opensecrets.org

in a letter to the SEC..five US consumer organisations...

The group says E&Y's advice 'makes a mockery of Congress' intent to ensure independence of the audit', and urges SEC to take fast action before other Big Four firms adopt a similar model. accountancyage

And finally..coming in third with 151,800, Credit Suisse Group (NYSE: CS). Credit Suisse has been involved with a plethora of SEC lawsuits and other scandalous endevours. They should feel comfortable with Giuliani and his corrupt 'henchmen'.
Credit Suisse Group
Credit Suisse First Boston is one of the world’s largest securities firms. It advises and invests in virtually every industry affected by federal legislation, including oil and gas, telecommunications, electric utilities and media companies. The company also has a major stake in the future of the stock market through its rapidly expanding online brokerage business. Credit Suisse has been one of the leading proponents of privatizing Social Security, as well as deregulating the securities industry, a move that would allow investment firms to offer up services usually available only at banks. In August 2002, after a succession of corporate scandals rocked Wall Street and Washington, congressional investigators launched a probe into alleged conflicts of interest in the firm’s dealings with Enron and Global Crossing. opensecrets.org

CSFB played a central role in creating the controversial partnerships that Enron used to hold billions of dollars of unprofitable assets and that eventually contributed to its bankruptcy, the Financial Times newspaper reported.

In response, CSFB acknowledged its links to Enron but said its work was reviewed by lawyers, auditors and credit ratings agencies.

Enron depended heavily on a team within CSFB, known as the structured products group, to engineer the partnerships, according to the FT report. bbc
Rudy Giuliani is a filthy, filthy man. His pockets are lined by the people who have riddle the United States with excessive graft and corruption. If Rudy is the best the GOP have to offer...America is in deep, deep trouble. This man represents "Bushness" as usual.

Giuliani is having recurring dreams..of who?

Does the supreme exaggerator need a psychiatrist? He says he's been having recurring dreams. You'll never guess what GOP front runner, Rudolph Giuliani has been dreaming about. Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of France..and plane crashes!

Here is the transcript of Rudy's speech in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
"I've been having a recurring dream..I hope there are no psychiatrists here because I I know I'll get some type of instant analysis on one of those show tomorrow..like, Psycho babble stuff..ya know.

but..heres..I'm gonna to tell ya' the dream, because l we are good friends and I feel I can share this with ya' . I've had this dream five times now...

Nicolas Sarkozy the President of France is one an airplane. He is flying from France to the United States over the Atlantic Ocean. He is halfway to the United States. Another plane is going in the other direction. From the United States to France. It almost hits his plane. They almost crash. They get so close..The two planes gets so close ..that you can see inside the window of one plane to the other.

Sarkozy looks in the window of the other plane and the three people there..going from the United States to France...are waving at him...they are Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama, and John Edwards.

You get it right? Sarkozy is coming to the United States to take are quintessential American principles of free market, low taxes, less government, parent control. He wants to take those principles and embed them in France..to reform France...and they would like to go take the failing principles in France and see if they can bring em' back to the United States.

Does this make and sense to you? Does it make any sense to you? Sarkozy wants to reduce taxes. Most of Europe wants to reduce taxes. Gosh all mighty, China is moving to free market economics and India is moving away from socialism. We got the only three people on the planet that want to raise taxes..who are running for the Democratic Nomination for President of the Untied States..they just don't want to raise taxes...they want to raise taxes, probably more than your taxes have ever been raised. like 25-30 percent increase in taxes."

Are You Kidding? Another Republican caught in the bathroom..

You tell me...is this Family Values?...or...Compassionate Conservatism?
Louisiana - Republican Councilman Joey DiFatta, who on Thursday withdrew from his Senate campaign, has been stopped twice since 1996 for suspicion of engaging in lewd behavior in public restrooms in Jefferson Parish, reports The Times-Picayune.

In one police report it shows that DiFatta was watching "a man use the bathroom while peering through a hole in a bathroom stall." Another says "DiFatta slid his foot into the deputy's stall and tapped the deputy's foot" alaska report
.....
DiFatta, 53, acknowledged that reports he had been stopped are true, but he denied any wrongdoing in both cases. He said he was not prosecuted in either case and has no arrest record.
.....
The deputy inside the stall, Detective Wayne Couvillion, responded by tapping his foot, and DiFatta reached under the partition and began to rub the deputy's leg, the report states.

The detective asked DiFatta, "What do you want?" according to the report, and he replied, "I want to play with you." The Times-Picayune

Remembering the idiot on Radio..."Live From City Hall...with Rudy Giuliani"

Outlandish quotes from the eternal "flip flopper", Giuliani, from his radio show while Mayor. "Live From City Hall...with Rudy Giuliani" allowed New Yorkers to get 'in touch' with their Mayor from 1994 to 2001...instead he pissed them off.

Giuliani,the NRA and assault rifles...
"Now the reason why the NRA has lost all credibility is statements like that," he said. "By definition these are attack weapons. They are used for offense. It really is absolutely astounding that the NRA continues to have influence in areas in which they make no sense at all."
on dog owners picking up pooch poop in the park...
"I get angry about this all the time! When I was a private citizen I would go up to people and tell them they were slobs," Giuliani recalled. "I would say: 'Hey, you're a real slob. And you're disrespectful of the rights of other people. Clean up after your dog, damn it!'"
on Clinton's healthcare plan....
"...universal health care....Isn't it better they get some humane treatment for themselves?"
on running for a Senate seat in Arkansas...
"I would represent Arkansas even though I've never been there, don't know anything about it, have no connection with it. But, you know, maybe it would be kind of cool."
can't forget about the ferrets....
"David, your compulsion, your excessive concern for weasels is a sign of something wrong in your personality," the mayor said. "I am giving you the benefit of 55 years of experience — having handled insanity defenses, you need help."
on fear...
"Usually new ideas scare you because of your fear of inadequate performance."
on corruption in his administration....
"Why don't you seek counseling somewhere, Bob? I think you could use some help. I can see the direction we're going in — there are people so upset and so disturbed that they use radios for these sick little attacks on people... "I hope you take this in the right spirit, Bob."You should go to a hospital. You should see a psychiatrist."
Giuliani doesn't care about anyone besides himself. He is an ego maniacal maniac with a temper. We already have two of those in the Evol Office...do we need another?

On another side note....our supposed "new" AG has strong ties with Rudy. In fact, Giuliani employed Mukaseys' son at the infamously shady law firm of Bracewell and Giuliani partners. Both he and his son also sat on Giuliani's Presidential Judicial Advisory Committee. If Mukasey is "approved" and Rudy subverts his way into the Evol Office....we will have created the same "special" relationship that 'w' and Gonzo had. Think wisely America.

Pathetic Rudy Alert: National House Party on Wed...bring $9.11 to get in

The pathetic neo conservatives have stooped to a new low. Abraham Sofaer, former State Department advisor under Reagan and fellow at the Hoover institution is throwing a party for Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday, Sept. 25th. in Palo Alto, California.

Haven't you heard? Rudy Giuliani's political supporters are having a national house party to raise 'tainted' campaign funds. The chosen theme "$9.11 for Rudy". It's true. Instead of the average $100 per plate dinner, Rudy's supporters will enjoy $9.11 per plate dinner. What the bleep..bleep..bleep, Are you kidding me?
According to the invitation, "$9.11 for Rudy" is an "independent, non denominational grass-roots campaign to raise $10,000 in small increments to show how many individual, everyday Americans support America's Mayor."sfgate
Apparently the brainchild of 'some young people who came up with it' stated Sofaer.

If Sofaer was a truth teller he would have said
"this is some delusional, pathetic excuse for Rudy to capitalize off of the events of 9/11. Giuliani is a sham and the chickenhawks who came up with the idea of '$9.11 for Rudy' are sadly out of touch with America and their own generation. If you have $9.11.. waste it on Wed. night with our cronies..we'll pack your plate with Bull$hit and you'll come back for seconds."
Pathetic. His supporters are just as delusional as he is. This man represents business as usual in DC. He and is supporters ARE the 1/3rd of America who believe Bush has done a 'great job' as President.

Senator Hagel's Perfect Timing

I find this 'retirement' a little odd. Consider this. Senator Chuck Hagel is directly tied to the E Voting Scandal and perhaps even in the sub prime market.

Hagel sits on the Board of Directors of a holding company called McCarthy Group. They claim to be an investment firm with a diverse portfolio upwards of 1 billion dollars. Anyways, here is the kicker.

McCarthy Group owns ES & S and Diebold. Both highly controversial Evoting machines. I believe he also was one of their CEO's when they were just starting. Even more damning both those companies were created by 2 brothers who are heavy GOP supporters. Oh...all of these companies either started in or currently based out of Omaha, NE.
-Senator Charles Hagel, a Nebraska Republican, has a controlling financial stake in the McCarthy Group, which in turn owns ES&S. Nebraska voters cast their votes on ES&S DREs. Further, Michael McCarthy, chairman of the McCarthy Group, served as Hagel's campaign treasurer from 1999 until 2002.

-Leaders of the nation's two largest DRE manufacturers, Diebold and ES&S, are a pair of brothers. Bob Urosevich is president of Diebold's election system division, while Todd Urosevich is a vice-president of ES&S.
How Honest is Hagel?
Back when Hagel first ran there for the U.S. Senate in 1996, his company's computer-controlled voting machines showed he'd won stunning upsets in both the primaries and the general election. The Washington Post (1/13/1997) said Hagel's "Senate victory against an incumbent Democratic governor was the major Republican upset in the November election." According to Bev Harris of www.blackboxvoting.org, Hagel won virtually every demographic group, including many largely Black communities that had never before voted Republican. Hagel was the first Republican in 24 years to win a Senate seat in Nebraska.

Six years later Hagel ran again, this time against Democrat Charlie Matulka in 2002, and won in a landslide. As his hagel.senate.gov website says, Hagel "was re-elected to his second term in the United States Senate on November 5, 2002 with 83% of the vote. That represents the biggest political victory in the history of Nebraska."

What Hagel's website fails to disclose is that about 80 percent of those votes were counted by computer-controlled voting machines put in place by the company affiliated with Hagel. Built by that company. Programmed by that company.

Welcome to the 'Homeland'.. GOP CNN/YouTube Debate

In a not so shocking revelation, only 2 of the 10 GOP 2008 Presidential candidates have announced they will participate in the upcoming GOP CNN/YouTube debate scheduled for September 17th. (McCain and Paul) Once again the GOP have demonstrated their views on governance, by the people...for the people...Participatory Democracy is not for the people anymore... 'Welcome to the Homeland'.

Does the CNN/YouTube debate offer too much direct participation to the informed voter for the GOP? Currently the United States is facing much more than the 'war of terror'. We are at a critical time in which age demographics are playing a critical role in the direction of American electoral politics. A period of whether our NATION progresses into the future or slides into the politics of our NeW 'hOmeland. Either the way of the GOP 'Boomers or into a more progressive path more attuned to the values and digital culture of Gen X and Gen Y. With a combined population of nearly 125 million people, X and Y are a formidable force for the GOP to contend with. Silencing the vote in 2004 might prove to have been little easier to the GOP than it will in '08.

If the GOP give up on gaining the votes of Gen X, Gen Y, and the African American vote, as well, what segment of the population does their party represent? Well...it's election time, so Bush tried to deliver the Immigrant vote, but he lacks the credibility to speak on behalf of any issue, much less the slippery slope of immigration politics. The world has experienced enough 'compassionate conservatism' for a long, long time. Two thirds of the nation have rejected the Bush Administration and their subversive criminal political machine. If they won't give US answers...their respective GOP candidates should. A leader does not hide from THE people, He/she embraces them..embraces our NATION.

A 'no show' at the GOP CNN/YouTube debate will not go noticed by the national media as they did with the NAACP GOP debate. The GOP will have demonstrated that they are not responsive to their electorate and are following their own 'private agenda'. An agenda that does not represent America. For a party of 'Family Values' they sure do not seem to care about their own children. From Global warming to Iraq...The GOP have fallen out of touch with the nation.

They have given up maintaining a participatory democracy and have settled with a perverted for of our nation. 'Welcome to the Homeland' . Republican or Democrat...your vote means squat to the GOP. Let populism survive.

Same Players. Different Scandal.

NAACP lawsuit announced at convention before GOP Debate

The GOP ' no show at the NAACP’s debate portion at 98th annual convention was absolutely shocking, but before we address that issue I believe this lawsuit needs to come to light. "The NAACP filed suit in Los Angeles federal court against 14 of the country’s largest lenders, alleging systematic, institutionalized racism in sub-prime home mortgage lending."

"The Infamous 14"
Ameriquest, Fremont Investment & Loan, Option One, WMC Mortgage, Countrywide, Long Beach Mortgage, Citigroup, BNC Mortgage, Accredited Home Lenders, Encore Credit, Bear Sterns First Franklin Financial, HSBC Finance and Washington Mutual.
