Cheney's staff dressed his dogs like Darth Vadar and Superman for Halloween

I didn't believe it when I read it, but it appears true.

At the vice president's home at the Naval Observatory, his staff put both of the Cheneys' dogs in Halloween costumes on Wednesday, just for fun and family photos. The yellow lab got to be Superman. The black lab? Darth Vader.

The Caption read,

ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: The Vice President's dogs may beat the President's dogs in the best dressed category this Halloween.

Late night TV shows have ridiculed and compared Vice President Dick Cheney to Darth Vader.

So in a wicked response, Cheney dressed one of his dogs, Jackson, as the famous Star Wars character. Cheney's other Labrador retriever, Dave, is dressed up as superman.

Cheney returns from hunting trip. Now he's 'Hunted by Rev. Al Sharpton'

Geez..Can Cheney go hunting without a controversy? No. Last time he shot his friend in the face, this time his partners all made it out safe. Everything is ok. Except for the a picture of the Confederate flag at the secluded Hudson Valley Gun Club,

According to CNN,

a New York Daily News photographer snapped a picture of a small Confederate flag hanging inside a garage on the hunt club property.

What would one do with a photo of a Confederate flag coupled with Cheney being nearby do?.. show it to Reverend Al Sharpton, of course,

The photo was shown to New York City civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton, who issued a statement demanding that the vice president "leave immediately, denounce the club and apologize for going to a club that represents lynching, hate and murder to black people."

Sharpton's statement was issued hours after Cheney departed the club at 3:45 p.m. for a flight out of the Stewart Air National Guard Base. In a statement issued Monday evening, Cheney spokeswoman Megan Mitchell said neither Cheney nor anyone on his staff saw such a flag at the hunt club.

It's not clear whether the door of the garage that contained the flag was even open at the time the vice president was in the area. (but come on..a Confederate flag in upstate NY, not the best image to portray. Down south, sure..not NY.)

Let's just be happy with the fact that Cheney didn't shoot anyone in the face on this trip. That photographer better watch out, though. Next time, Cheney will give him to ol' 'Whittington Treatment'

All the friends and lawyers of the Machiavellian VP, Dick Cheney had better start running. The "Dick" has his shotgun in hand is preparing for another hunting trip.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal,

Vice President Dick Cheney is coming to Dutchess County again to go hunting, according to two sources familiar with his plans. Cheney will arrive Sunday night and head to a hunting club in Dutchess Monday morning.

Cheney is expected to arrive Sunday night at Stewart airport and travel to a hotel in Poughkeepsie, sources said

On Monday morning, he is expected to leave Poughkeepsie and head to the Clove Valley Rod & Gun Club in LaGrangeville.

No worries though, Dutchess County residents safety will not be in danger. Extra precautions to make sure the "trigger happy" Dick keeps his distance from the public are in place,

Motorists can expect road closures and considerable associated delays on Interstate 84 and Route 9 Sunday night, and on Route 55 and again on Interstate 84 on Monday. Depending on what time he travels Monday morning, his trip could disrupt school bus service in affected areas. Read the full article

Cheney upgrades his 'meaningful' consequences towards Iran to 'SERIOUS' consequences.

If there is one thing you can say about the Vice President...he is extremely 'calculating'. No matter if you love him or hate him, Cheney chooses his words wisely and once he's made a decision...it's final.

That's what scares me...Cheney's recent 'upgrade' of his threats. Couple his statements with that of the 'resident in the oval office' and Cheney's 'meaningful consequences' become something quite 'serious'. He is escalating his rhetoric towards war with Iran. His words will inevitably lead to bombs....

"The Iranian regime needs to know that if it stays on its present course, the international community is prepared to impose meaningful consequences. (Applause.) For our part, the United States is keeping all options on the table in addressing the irresponsible conduct of the regime. (Applause.) And we join other nations in sending that regime a clear message: We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon." full transcript

Pretty threatening, right? Well then, Cheney's upgrade shouldn't go understated. Cheney's upgraded consequences are "SERIOUS"...

"The Iranian regime needs to know that if it stays on its present course, the international community is prepared to impose serious consequences," Cheney said. He did not specify what those consequences might be, or whether they would include military action.

Cheney made his remarks in a foreign policy speech during a conference on the Middle East sponsored by the Washington Institute, a research organization. During the 25-minute talk, he also took aim at Syria, accusing it of using "bribery and intimidation" to influence coming elections in Lebanon, and he made the case, as he has in the past, for the administration's muscular approach in prosecuting terrorism suspects.

But his most serious comments were aimed at Iran, which he accused of being "the world's most active sponsor of state terrorism." IHT

Experts at the conference said the vice president's language, while stopping short of threatening military action, seemed designed to prepare Americans for the administration to make moves in that direction if Iran does not cooperate. Bush has said in the past that the United States will not "tolerate" a nuclear Iran, but Cheney's construction, that the world "will not allow" a nuclear Iran, seemed to go a step further.

Please Hear the Drumbeat, Cheney's Rocking out

The drumbeat to a military confrontation with Iran is intensifying. The same players from different scandals are all 'preaching' the same rhetoric as they did before the Iraq war. The marching orders towards Iran are 'active'...Please America...wake up.

All the puzzle pieces are falling into place. Remember Cheney's 'meaningful consequences'..

Iran WILL NOT be allowed to continue with their nuclear facilities and enrichment programs. IAEA regulations and UN resolutions move to slowly within our rapidly changing multi polar international world. The bureaucracy will tie up action within the UN. Meanwhile, Israel and the west will have already acted. Cheney's 'meaningful consequences' will have occurred.They will not wait for approval.

Listen to their drumbeat...This is not the "last throes of the insurgency". A military confrontation with Iran will not lead to "mission accomplished" Iran will not play tit for tat..they will go for broke. War will be asymmetrical.

In the words of Clausewitz, "politics is war by other means" . According to the Bush regime, the time for politics is over...war seems inevitable. Odd considering they haven't even tried diplomacy. Please..America..listen to the drumbeat.

The Carlyle/Haliburton Show is Shifting into 'OVERDRIVE'

There is something interesting going on, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Yesterday it was reported in the International Herald Tribune that a deal had been completed between the government of Dubai to own a 20 percent ownership stake in the Nasdaq and roughly a 30 percent stake in London. The deal sounds sketchy, right? Because it is.

If this deal is completed it would be the first time that a Middle Eastern government would OWN a large part of the 'exchanges'. This raises many red flags. Should we really be allowing foreign governments to be 'purchasing' ownership stakes into the our stock exchange, London's?

To get a better picture of this deal perhaps we should remember the DP World fiasco in 2005. DP? That stands for "DUBAI ports world". The very company that the Bush administration tried to ram through in '05 is back at it again. This is ridiculous..the Bush/Cheney operation tried to give them access to our ports and it failed. Now they're doing the same but, with our financial system. Are you beginning to get the stench of the Carlyle Group, yet?

This proposed deal is being accomplished through a unique trading scheme. Deals that the SEC should not even consider. Straight to the trash can...but no...

..in May, Nasdaq announced that it had reached agreement to buy the OMX Group for $3.7 billion. But in August, Borse Dubai, the parent company of the Dubai International Financial Exchange came in with a higher bid.

In the deal that is expected to be announced Thursday, Borse Dubai will complete the purchase of the OMX Group and then hand it over to Nasdaq in exchange for at least a 19 percent share in the New York exchange and Nasdaq's stake of about 30 percent in the London Stock Exchange, which is valued at about $1.8 billion. Through a complex set of transactions, Borse Dubai will become a shareholder in Nasdaq and Nasdaq will become a strategic shareholder in the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX). Steps will be taken to allow DIFX to be rebranded with the Nasdaq name. Borse Dubai will purchase a 28 per cent stake in the London Stock Exchange (LSE) from Nasdaq and Nasdaq will win control of OMX, given that all the necessary regulatory conditions are met. Here is the extremely interesting part to me. Remember the Carlyle Group? The highly controversial private global investment firm who all the ' big names ' consult for. The company who placed their HQ in Washington, DC "so it wouldn't get lost in the crowd of New York investment firms". The company that bought out the bin Laden's family shares in the company after Sept 11, 2001. Well..there making news again. and what perfect timing they have. I suspect their hand in the 'odd Nasdaq trade' with Dubai.

In an article in the Washington Post this morning , "Carlyle is selling part of its stake to Abu Dhabi".

Private-equity giant Carlyle Group said yesterday that it is selling a 7.5 percent share of its general partnership to an investment group owned by the government of Abu Dhabi.

Of all the emirates of the UAE, Abu Dhabi is by far the richest. Her 420,000 citizens are estimated to have a monetary worth of $17 million each. In short, Abu Dhabi makes the Hampton's feel like Compton in the 80's.

Excuse me here...but this is some crazy $hit. Carlyle is making out like a bandit while the market is crumbling. While the markets rupture it seems to me like they're shoring up capital and wielding the 'hands of capitalism' to their whim. Wait..David M. Rubenstein,Carlyle co-founder, just said that at the Private Equity Analyst Conference in New York on the 19th

"I don't know if we are going to go public or no....This gives us the flexibility to say yes or no, we don't want to. The reason you go public is to get permanent capital to do a lot of things. But NOW we have permanent capital." Washington Post 9/21

Tom Taulli, author of The Edgar Online Guide to Decoding Financial Statements explains Carlyle Group's newsworthy deal in excellent fashion with his brief analysis on Blogging Buyouts

the firm has snagged a $1.35 billion private investment from Mubadala Development Company, which is part of Abu Dhabi. Essentially, this places a hefty $20 billion valuation on Carlyle.

It's an important move. Carlyle wants to have a permanent source of capital, which can help with minority investment opportunities and even buying up other private equity firms.

Plus, in order to keep up the growth momentum, Carlyle needs to expand into new markets, such as the Middle East.

America. Please wake up! The Carlyle/Haliburton show is shifting into 'OVERDRIVE' and our media is silent.

4th Branch readies itself for another Hospital Visit

The 4th Branch is readying himself to go back into the hospital to get his batteries replaced for his heart defibrillator. Apparently George and his 'compassionate conservatism' has been a little much for Cheney's poor heart.

What will America do without the 4th Branch?

Cheney's doctors have reassured 'w' that all the right tools are being used.

"we have ordered a 2,500 piece Craftsman set of tools and have enlisted the services of Jiffy Lube, we spare no expenses to preserve the 4th Branch. Rest assured...he is in good hands. All of his oil lines and valves will be throughly scrubbed and replaced if necessary."

The entire 4th Branch will be in the George Washington University Hospital. The question remains... will the 4th Branch sign over control of the country to 'W' and the executive branch during his hospital visit? For a person that doesn't seem to have a heart, he sure needs it 'checked' regularly. In an astounding comment by the WH press regime,

Anniversary of the 10 Downing Street Memo. Democracy Subverted. Impeachment Required

July 23rd, 2007 was a historic day in America. It was this day 5 years ago that the 10 Downing Street Memo was created. This was a memo which the British intelligence agency detailed the options for Iraq and the U.S. determination to invade. No matter the consequences. This memo shall stand as 'exhibit I' in Impeachment hearings against the Imperial leadership of W and his counterparts in crime. American democrazy is in

The Bush regime has and continues to subvert our inalienable rights into priviledges. The press has failed US as they are acting as a mouthpiece for the Administration, not as watchdog for the Public. Free press an illusion to a foregone era. Stand up Congress! Save our democrazy from 'W'. Signing statements, contempt, executive orders, executive priviliges....They have placed themselves and their actions above the law by claiming 'national security' is at stake. The 4th Branch..Dick versus the Media. Championship Bout

The national media, historically known as the 4th branch of government, has been ousted, supplanted, sent packing. Cheney and staff are right. They are the 'new' fourth branch. Secretive, manipulative, and Machiavellian to the core. They've claimed the title..and rightly so. 5 million missing emails, justice department subversion, secretive energy meeting, blocked testimonies, veiled threats...there is no end in sight, but best of all, the beltway crew is deftly afraid of them.

















Bill Clinton received head from a fat girl and faced impeachment. Nixon lied, betrayed the nation and was forced to resign. Cheney. UNTOUCHABLE! The man is like kryptonite...he weakens everyone around him, then controls their every action. He is the finest example of Machiavelli'sthePrince in contemporary history. A true master puppeteer pulling the strings of government from his 4th branch office. One has to admire such disdain for the law and government apparatus as previously thought before the Bush Administration part II. The man has some huge cajones to make his claims and redefine history. But..He constantly gets away with it. Why?

Sure, try and cut funding to the office of the VP. Fat chance of it affecting anything. This is the Carlyle/Halliburton Administration. An executive branch not concerned with voters or even the likes of their party platform. Yet, not a word of Impeachment on our national media. The media should lose the title of '4th branch'. Not even talk of a censure. Come on. Represent American values. The news used too.

I remember a time when "around the world in 60 secs" seemed like a news brief. Now it would be considered a momentous occasion to get a full 60 seconds of REAL news. Instead we get one social expose after another, Paris, Anna Nicole, this wrestler steroid freak. and they tell us we "want" it. "the ratings demonstrate that this is what people watch" Whatever. That is what is offered! Where is the news?

So.. if the VP and his office want to declare themselves the 4th Branch, so be it. Until the National Media steps up to the challenge and does some real journalism, some real investigating, then the VP should hold the title. Take it away if you can.

This essay is by no means agreeing with Dicks' perversion, but a call to arms for the national media to represent and protect the people from the abuses of power. To protect the common man from injustice. Not silence the majority as is done today.

Woodward, Bernstein..where are you?.. Oh yeah, just part of the 'establishment' these days. Remember...they were once American Heroes, true investigative journalist, young, intelligent, unnerving. Now, just part of the illusion of free press. Sure write a scathing book..great hindsight. Press..Take back your title..become the 4th branch again. Be our watchdog on graft and corruption. Report on the Impeachment requests of a great percentage of the American public. At least we still have Keith Olbermann.

Why does this Administration keep having Scandals?

Same players, different scandal. Do the research. Rove was active in Watergate. Nothing new. Jeffery Feldman at Frameshop, highlights this well and that was in 2005. Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Daddy Bush, hands deep in too many scandals and supremely shady deals to list. No wonder Cheney feels he runs the "4th branch" Haliburton and Carlyle Group.

Saved by the " Old Boys Club "
