Bush administration Dominatrix: Debra Cagan..pounds on her "war drum" to British MP's

Have you ever wondered who debriefed our allies on America's 'position' on Iran and Iraq? Well..it might shock you. On Sept. 11th there were 2 partisan 'Playbills' in Bush diplomacy. The most obvious being the 'Petraeus/Crocker Show' but, the more theatrical content was provided via 'The Debra Cagan Show' at the Pentagon.

Six members of the British Parliament met with Debra Cagan to discuss America's stance on Iraq on Iran. Cagan, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Coalition Affairs to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, made sure the MP's understood her message when stating..."I hate Iranians".

What the Hell is this? Are you kidding me? I'm not a member of the British Parliament but I can understand their astonishment. Who in the world communicates on an intelligent level this way. No way...it couldn't be true. Wrong. The six MP's made sure everyone understood when they provided their responses to their 'meeting' with the She Devil.
"She made it clear that although the US had no plans to attack Iran, it did not rule out doing so if the Iranians ignored warnings not to develop a nuclear bomb.

It was her tone when they met her on September 11 that shocked them most.

The MPs say that at one point she said: "In any case, I hate all Iranians."

Although it was an aside, it was not out of keeping with her general demeanour.

"She seemed more keen on saying she didn't like Iranians than that the US had no plans to attack Iran," said one MP. "She did say there were no plans for an attack but the tone did not fit the words."

Another MP said: "I formed the impression that some in America are looking for an excuse to attack Iran. It was very alarming."

Tory Stuart Graham, who was on the ten-day trip, would not discuss Ms Cagan but said: "It was very sobering to hear from the horse's mouth how the US sees the situation."dailymail.co.uk
The crazy lady wasn't finished either. She continued beating her 'Iranian war drum' by stating that it would be the UK's fault if 'Iranians' took over southern Iraq after a UK pullout
"She said if we leave the south of Iraq, the Iranians will take it over," said one MP.
When questioned about the meeting, the Pentagon responded to the claims by simply stating
"She doesn't speak that way"
Are you kidding? Because if one takes the way she dresses one might differ with that opinion. Who in the world wears a bright red leather dominatrix jacket to an awards benefit(see picture) much less to receive the Commander's Cross Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary?

Well that person is Ms. Debra Cagan, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Coalition Affairs to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and member of the Commander's Cross Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (2005).

Remember, America...she "hate(s) Iranians". Worse.. she has the ear of the 'resident in the Oval Office' and his key advisers. Aren't we so lucky?

...the drumbeat to war continues...

*special note* Her award is given by the President of Hungary and has many levels. The GREEN ribbon on her award signifies the CIVILIAN, not MILITARY division.
Transcript of Ambassador AndrĂ¡s Simonyi and Keynote Speech by Mickey Hargitay during her awards ceremony.

The Dominatrix has been around DC for well over a decade..with SECURITY CLEARANCE!!

'Rudy' finds God on Friday..sometimes

So there I was...trying to enjoy my lunch when I read the following article by Libby Quaid of the Associated Press. Obviously frustrated, I finished my pathetic Big Mac with a stale bun, devoured my over salted 'freedom fries' and quenched my thirst with a Fiji water. ( I should've packed my own lunch). Directly after lunch I proceeded into a meeting with several colleagues. Seeing my dismay and frustration my colleagues asked " what's up? why do you seem so frustrated?" My response...three words.."THAT DAMN GIULIANI!"

Are you kidding me? That evil lil' criminal named Rudolf William "Rudy" Giuliani has blown my AGAIN. (it happens regularly). Here are a few excerpts from the article that RUINED my lunch....again.
Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani compared the scrutiny of his personal life marked by three marriages to the biblical story of how Jesus dealt with an adulterous woman.

In an interview posted online Friday, Giuliani was questioned about his family and told the Christian Broadcasting Network, "I think there are some people that are very judgmental."
.....

Giuliani has a daughter who indicated support for Democrat Barack Obama and a son who said he didn't speak to his father for some time. Giuliani's messy divorce from their mother, Donna Hanover, was waged publicly while Giuliani was mayor of New York.

"I'm guided very, very often about, Don't judge others, lest you be judged..I'm guided a lot by the story of the woman that was going to be stoned, and Jesus put the stones down and said, 'He that hasn't sinned, cast the first stone,' and everybody disappeared...It seems like nowadays in America, we have people that think they could've passed that test..and I don't think anybody could've passed that test but Jesus."
.....

"In the New Testament story, related in the Gospel of John, Jesus does not actually hold stones. The Pharisees bring Jesus a woman charged with adultery, reminding him the punishment for adultery is stoning. They are testing Jesus in an effort to charge him with breaking the law.

The damn moron went on...

" 'Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.'
.......

Giuliani has insisted his family relationships are private. In 1968, he married his cousin, Regina Peruggi. They divorced 14 years later, and Giuliani obtained an annulment from the Catholic Church on the grounds that as second cousins, they should have received a dispensation to marry.
......

"I have very, very strong views on religion that come about from having wanted to be a priest when I was younger, having studied theology for four years in college...It's an area I know really, really well academically...And my personal view of it is I need God's help for everything, and I probably feel that the most when I'm in crisis and under pressure, like Sept. 11, when I was dealing with prostate cancer, or (when) I'm trying to explain death to people, which unfortunately I've had to do so often...So it's a very, very important part of my life,But I think in a democracy and in a government like ours, my religion is my way of looking at God, and other people have other ways of doing it, and some people don't believe in God. I think that's unfortunate. I think their life would be a lot fuller if they did, but they have that right."

and on the Moron's obvious diversion at the NRA, Guiliani stated,

"And quite honestly, since Sept. 11, most of the time when we get on a plane, we talk to each other and just reaffirm the fact that we love each other," he said.

"Sometimes if I'm in the middle of a very, very sensitive meeting, I don't take the call right then; I wait. But I thought it would be kind of nice if I took it at that point, and I'd done that before in engagements, and I didn't realize it would create any kind of controversy..."
Hey A$$hole, you've just ruined my 'pathetic' lunch. Get over it..The American public knows you're a LIAR. You can't even manage your family, much less our country. Bush/Cheney might have promised you the White House, but I'll do everything I can to prevent that. Even if it means being forced to vote by the Democratic party to support the beast of Hillary. Rudy, you are evil. Mukasey is your Gonzales..and I know it. You...lucky ba$stard..you're lucky the GOP is in control of 'rigging' elections.

I call on everybody...Remember the words of the perverted Giuliani himself.
"My first class without prayers was my first day of law school,"

"I believe in God...I pray and ask him for help. I pray like a lawyer. I try to make a deal -- get me out of this jam, and I'll start going back to church."
......
"No, I don't attend Mass regularly, but I go to Mass occasionally," he told American Enterprise magazine in 1999.
.....
Providence, R.I., Bishop Thomas Tobin has criticized Giuliani's position, calling it pathetic, confusing and hypocritical "
......
The way he treated his wife gives us insight into how he views the role of family, how he views marriage, how he views the church's teaching on adultery and divorce...If you identify yourself that way in a public forum and then try to shut down any questions, that's not going to work"said the Rev. James Heft, religion professor and president of the Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies at the University of Southern California.
Once again...are you kidding me? Giuliani is a habitual criminal. He has consistently placed himself above the law...above the Church...and above the common citizen. Giuliani represents the Status Quo...the status quo needs altering...NOW

Dubai: Rising out of the 'fog' to claim her role in international commerce

Dubai's skyline rising out of the 'fog' as global money markets realign.

How does a 'holding company' become a global financial powerhouse in 2 months?

It's easy if you're the Prime Minister and VP of the United Arab Emirates, as well as, the ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum created Borse Dubai on August 6, 2007, which essentially consolidated the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX).
The Dubai Government announced today that it will consolidate its holdings in Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX) into a new holding company, Borse Dubai.

[Dubai's] move is in line with the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, and demonstrates its commitment to further position Dubai as the leading capital market in the region dubaisharetalk
So, I guess that means that Dubai's 'exchange' markets are effectively under the control of the ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, right?

Here is when it get interesting. Borse Dubai and NASDAQ immediately participated in a bidding war for a company named OMX. OMX is a Swedish/Finnish financial services company with an amazing highly desired integrated 'back end technology' which consolidates other money market 'exchanges'. Formed in 2003, OMX has become a financial leader which makes gaining OMX paramount.
[OMX] in addition to owning and running exchanges in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and the Baltic states, provides technology to about 60 exchanges worldwide, including the Australian Securities Exchange, Nordic power market Nordpool and the Singapore Exchange. khaleejtimes

How did the bidding war end up? Well...on Sept. 20th the craziest transactions occurred. Borse Dubai and NASDAQ became partners.

Here is the shady agreement in a nutshell.

Borse Dubai buys OMX..'gives' it to the NASDAQ in a complex trade scheme for a 20% stake in NASDAQ in New York and 28% of the NASDAQ owned stock in the London Stock Exchange (LSE). Along with gaining OMX, NASDAQ will become the principal strategic partner (33%) in the Dubai STATE OWNED DIFX. So in essence , Borse Dubai, within 2 months of its inception, gained a firm grasp of the western 'exchanges' and economically tied Dubai, the United States, Europe, and the Middle East together. Which has been their intent all along.

According to the NASDAQ press release
NASDAQ Increases Certainty of OMX Combination

Borse Dubai to become a 19.99 Per Cent Shareholder in NASDAQ;
Restricted to 5 Per Cent Voting Rights

Steps taken to allow DIFX to be rebranded with the NASDAQ Brand

NASDAQ to Become a Strategic Shareholder in DIFX

Borse Dubai Purchases a 28.0 Per Cent stake in LSE From NASDAQ
.....
Borse Dubai to become a 19.99% shareholder in NASDAQ (capped at
5 per cent voting rights)

NASDAQ will acquire all OMX shares to be purchased by Borse Dubai
in its offer for OMX

NASDAQ will become a strategic shareholder and the principal
commercial partner of Dubai International Financial Exchange
("DIFX")

DIFX will be re branded with the NASDAQ brand and licensed with market leading technology from the NASDAQ/OMX combination
Thursday, Sept. 20th, became much more complicated, though...Qatar, using the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) freaked upon hearing of the 'agreement' and went on a spending spree. They purchased roughly a 10% share of OMX and sent out a release to shareholders of OMX to 'take no action' on the NASDAQ/Dubai 'agreement'. Then QIA went ahead and purchased a 20% stake in the London Stock Exchange and on Friday, bought the remaining 5.3 million shares of NASDAQ owned shares in the LSE.
Qatar and Dubai are now the two biggest shareholders of the LSE, holding almost half of the world's third-largest stock exchange.reuters
Even more interesting...Qatar will not disclose who they received the money from to buy the LSE shares but, sources say Citigroup will be buying more shares of OMX to help out the QIA.
...sources familiar with the matter said Citigroup was seeking to buy shares in the market on behalf of the QIA.

Qatar said it had bought 20 percent stake of the London Stock Exchange through the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and urged OMX shareholders to take no action on the Dubai/Nasdaq offer. Sources familiar with the matter later said the QIA was buying OMX shares. khaleejtimes
Shady, right? It still gets worse.

On Thursday, the infamously shady Carlyle Group sold a 7.5 % stake in their own 'group' to another UAE emirate, Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is basically the 'hub of US Naval forces' in for the Middle East and USAF has a 'huge' air base there. Later they announced they will purchase Canada's PrimeWest Energy Trust.
Abu Dhabi National Energy Co., the state-controlled power generator and oil producer, agreed to buy Canada's PrimeWest Energy Trust for about C$4 billion ($4 billion) in the biggest-ever North American takeover by a United Arab Emirates company.

PrimeWest assets include properties in Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming. The deal is unlikely to spark the furor caused by the planned purchase by Dubai World's DP World unit last year of six U.S. port terminals through its acquisition of London-based Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co., said Eckart Woertz, chief economist at the Gulf Research Center in Dubai. bloomberg
It's all scandalous.

The obvious signs of subversion are taking place, yet there is no OUTRAGE. Our lawmakers, SEC, Homeland Security and the mainstream media are letting US down. The NASDAQ/Dubai deal is realigning our economies in a complex 'arrangement' that has given the Middle East leverage over western economies.

Homeland Security and the SEC are a joke. If they can't see this obvious subversion and crime they are useless. The DP World fiasco in 2005 was the first attempt at giving Dubai access to America's 'national interests'...the Nasdaq/Dubai arrangement is far worse. Far more dubious. Far more dangerous.
Such alliances could become a way for corporations to get around some political sensitivities about outright takeovers of key national assets

This kind of exchange in the sense of swapping stakes, this reciprocal cross holding, is possibly a substitute for a straight merger because there would be political difficulties in a straight merger," said international securities expert John Coffee, a Columbia University Law School Professor.

We're increasingly going to find that these petrol dollars will migrate not to treasuries but to capital assets in the United States ... and investments in money managers like Carlyle. reuters

according the Sen. Schumer, ""At this early stage this deal gives me pause... While I am and have been a big proponent of foreign investment in the United States, we must still be careful of the kinds of investments made in our critical infrastructure, financial exchanges, utilities, and other areas that are vital to the operation and security of our country...the Dubai exchange "is majority owned and controlled by the government of Dubai, which has previously been cited as a nexus of terror financing, money laundering, and a potential crossroads for shipping and trading for Iran in their quest for nuclear materials and technology." freeinternetpress
I'm sure we are all fine (sure), Although Bush won't speak of the deal in the U.S. he has stated..
US President George W. Bush said the authorities would probe security implications of the deal. "We have a reform process in place that will be able to deal with this issue," Bush said.uaeinteract
and the drama continues... Nancy Pelosi has weighed in on the issue demonstrating that she is a pathetic lawmaker who is in bed with the Bush administration. She has lost my support forever with her 'profound statement'...
"It doesn't raise alarm bells...This is a marketplace issue."
Take her down, Cindy...her 'table' is full of deceit. Deceit leads to war...

Please Hear the Drumbeat, Cheney's Rocking out

The drumbeat to a military confrontation with Iran is intensifying. The same players from different scandals are all 'preaching' the same rhetoric as they did before the Iraq war. The marching orders towards Iran are 'active'...Please America...wake up.

All the puzzle pieces are falling into place. Remember Cheney's 'meaningful consequences'..
"The Iranian regime needs to know that if it stays on its present course, the international community is prepared to impose meaningful consequences. (Applause.) For our part, the United States is keeping all options on the table in addressing the irresponsible conduct of the regime. (Applause.) And we join other nations in sending that regime a clear message: We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon." full transcript
"Given the fact that Iran has a stated policy that their objective is the destruction of Israel, the Israelis might well decide to act first, and let the rest of the world worry about cleaning up the diplomatic mess afterwards," Cheney said in 2005
Iran WILL NOT be allowed to continue with their nuclear facilities and enrichment programs. IAEA regulations and UN resolutions move to slowly within our rapidly changing multi polar international world. The bureaucracy will tie up action within the UN. Meanwhile, Israel and the west will have already acted. Cheney's 'meaningful consequences' will have occurred. They will not wait for approval.

Listen to their drumbeat...This is not the "last throes of the insurgency". A military confrontation with Iran will not lead to "mission accomplished" Iran will not play tit for tat..they will go for broke. War will be asymmetrical.

In the words of Clausewitz, "politics is war by other means" . According to the Bush regime, the time for politics is over...war seems inevitable. Odd considering they haven't even tried diplomacy. Please..America..listen to the drumbeat.

Late Emmy Awarded: Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi deserves an award. Not any award, but an Emmy. Why? Well... she is obviously 'betraying' the Democratic 'base'. Her 'table' is too cluttered with subversion she has not accomplished anything the American people have asked. She, as Bush....is a lame duck.

I've given her an Emmy for 'acting like a Democrat' while being a Bushevik.

Pathetic Rudy Alert: National House Party on Wed...bring $9.11 to get in

The pathetic neo conservatives have stooped to a new low. Abraham Sofaer, former State Department advisor under Reagan and fellow at the Hoover institution is throwing a party for Rudy Giuliani on Wednesday, Sept. 25th. in Palo Alto, California.

Haven't you heard? Rudy Giuliani's political supporters are having a national house party to raise 'tainted' campaign funds. The chosen theme "$9.11 for Rudy". It's true. Instead of the average $100 per plate dinner, Rudy's supporters will enjoy $9.11 per plate dinner. What the bleep..bleep..bleep, Are you kidding me?
According to the invitation, "$9.11 for Rudy" is an "independent, non denominational grass-roots campaign to raise $10,000 in small increments to show how many individual, everyday Americans support America's Mayor."sfgate
Apparently the brainchild of 'some young people who came up with it' stated Sofaer.

If Sofaer was a truth teller he would have said
"this is some delusional, pathetic excuse for Rudy to capitalize off of the events of 9/11. Giuliani is a sham and the chickenhawks who came up with the idea of '$9.11 for Rudy' are sadly out of touch with America and their own generation. If you have $9.11.. waste it on Wed. night with our cronies..we'll pack your plate with Bull$hit and you'll come back for seconds."
Pathetic. His supporters are just as delusional as he is. This man represents business as usual in DC. He and is supporters ARE the 1/3rd of America who believe Bush has done a 'great job' as President.

Hi, my name is Barack Obama, They call me 'Intellectually Lazy'

I was completely shocked when I read this article by Bill Sammon, the Senior White House Correspondent for the Examiner. With the 'surge assessment' SOLD, the Bush administration appears to be setting their eyes on the democratic field of presidential candidates. In short, they're going 'quail hunting'. Their chosen target....the freshman senator from Illinois , Barack Obama.

As for Obama, a senior White House official said the freshman senator from Illinois was "capable" of the intellectual rigor needed to win the presidency but instead relies too heavily on his easy charm.

"It's sort of like, 'that's all I need to get by,' which bespeaks sort of a condescending attitude towards the voters," said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity. "And a laziness, an intellectual laziness."

He cited an example from Obama's memoir, The Audacity of Hope, in which the senator complains that many "government programs don't work as advertised." Five days after the book was published last fall, Obama was asked to name some of those government programs by Tim Russert on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"And he can't give an example," the official said. "Look, if you wrote the book, you should have thought through what it was. But he's sitting there, fumbling around."

No. No...they did not just say that. Are you kidding me? Perhaps the "senior White House" source should first look inward, then spew his/her rhetoric. The idiot continued on..

Nor does Obama know his facts very well, according to the senior White House official. The official said in March, Obama was flummoxed by questions about his health care plan at a Democratic forum in Las Vegas. Two months later, the candidate drastically overstated the death toll from Kansas tornadoes.

"Ten thousand people died," Obama told an audience, when the actual death toll was 12.

"Over time, we'll see other things like that," the White House official said. "I'm going to be validated on Barack. He's not done the hard work necessary to prepare himself. And it's too late to do it."

I have a little advice for this 'senior White House official' . Look at Bush! Are you blind or just a complete partisan zealot? Wait..I know the answer

The 'resident in the oval office' has been by far the most ' intellectually lazy' person of them all. Worse, he hasn't given US one thing 'as advertised'. To take on Obama in this way is pathetic. The Bush administration has consistently sold US one 'lemon' on top of the other. When their 'salesman' don't work out they shift salespeople. $hit the Pentagon hired a PR firm to sell the surge, we've had 3-4 Press secretaries, too many generals in Iraq to count...the list continues of mis 'advertised' strategy.

What Obama is 'selling' is hope, change, and a return to dialogue. I am not an Obama supporter, but I am sympathetic to his message. America has been sold the same crap by the same people for over three decades. These 'experts' have driven the U.S. to a period of crisis. D.C. needs a 'house cleaning'. The GOP has succumbed to the power of the neo conservative 'academics' which has been advertising their message through the pulpit.

Our government is broken and we are applying band aids to a system that is crumbling down around US. Each band aid creates another problem.

So, unlike the GOP, who obviously want to engineer a showdown between Hillary and some GOP idiot, I'll judge for myself who is 'advertising' best. Do I want another Yalie in the Oval Office or someone else? That's easy..28 consecutive years of Yalies in the oval office is way too long.

I want a candidate who has proved he is WILLING to LEARN on the job. A candidate that is not 'intellectually lazy' like our current 'resident'. A candidate who doesn't stumble over the word 'nuklar'. A candidate that has enough character to recolonize his/her mistakes. That candidate just might be...Barack Obama.

Pakistan..Butter up the popcorn. It's your turn for the 'bush Laden' Show

When can you trust a lawmaker? It depends....are you listening to Liaquat Baluch, from the Mutahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), a major political alliance of religious groups in Pakistan. The coalition is strongly opposed to the Musharraf regime and want him ousted. When asked to give a response on the recent 'new' bin Laden tape controversy , he retorts,
"This is an attempt to turn people's sympathies in favor of Gen. Pervez Musharraf but such tactics are not going to work. I am sure that the video is a fake and made in America" iht 9/20
Get used to saying those words over and over again, Mr. Baluch. This is your first tape! We here in the west have been listening and watching this subversion for years. Prepare yourself for the show. Butter up your popcorn, settle into your sofa, turn down the lights, and watch another cheap production..produced via 'al Qaeda' with special guest appearances of the 'terrorists of the day'.

We've seen sick Osama, healthy Osama, slim gray bearded Osama, fat fake bearded Osama...We've had freeze frame with audio, freeze frame without audio, video with flames, streaming banners, and oh..can't forget about the backgrounds. Osama in the mountains, Osama in dark room, Osama in a bright room, Osama in the Lincoln bedroom. OK. Just thought I'd try to throw that one in there.

Guess what, Mr. Baluch, it's Pakistan's turn. Time for the 'ghost of bush Laden' to scare the crap out of your populace. Be careful...he may force all 160 million of you to...
'go shopping'. Call it an import. You've just received the package via anonymous courier from 'the ghost of bin Laden'

Little hint from the West...the 'ghost of bush Laden' appears during
  1. US Election cycles
  2. When Bush doesn't get his way
  3. Neo conservative political scandals
  4. Major anniversary dates for the US
  5. when 'propped up' Musharraf begins to have trouble subverting his illegal re election.
Don't be afraid. Keep pushing for your Democracy. Give Mush the boot and free yourself from the deviant grasps of the neoconservative, war profiteering, Bush Cabal.

Perhaps after a few more 'fake' bin Laden tapes we can all come together, get our costume party kits, and play 'Who Looks More Like Osama' this time? ( there's a entrepreneurial concept ). Mr. Baluch, just remember...it could get worse at anytime... if 'bush Laden' fails....Musharraf might import another dreaded program to fear your populace ...the idiot O'Reilly.

The Carlyle/Haliburton Show is Shifting into 'OVERDRIVE'

There is something interesting going on, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Yesterday it was reported in the International Herald Tribune that a deal had been completed between the government of Dubai to own a 20 percent ownership stake in the Nasdaq and roughly a 30 percent stake in London. The deal sounds sketchy, right? Because it is.

If this deal is completed it would be the first time that a Middle Eastern government would OWN a large part of the 'exchanges'. This raises many red flags. Should we really be allowing foreign governments to be 'purchasing' ownership stakes into the our stock exchange, London's?

To get a better picture of this deal perhaps we should remember the DP World fiasco in 2005. DP? That stands for "DUBAI ports world". The very company that the Bush administration tried to ram through in '05 is back at it again. This is ridiculous..the Bush/Cheney operation tried to give them access to our ports and it failed. Now they're doing the same but, with our financial system. Are you beginning to get the stench of the Carlyle Group, yet?

This proposed deal is being accomplished through a unique trading scheme. Deals that the SEC should not even consider. Straight to the trash can...but no...
..in May, Nasdaq announced that it had reached agreement to buy the OMX Group for $3.7 billion. But in August, Borse Dubai, the parent company of the Dubai International Financial Exchange came in with a higher bid.

In the deal that is expected to be announced Thursday, Borse Dubai will complete the purchase of the OMX Group and then hand it over to Nasdaq in exchange for at least a 19 percent share in the New York exchange and Nasdaq's stake of about 30 percent in the London Stock Exchange, which is valued at about $1.8 billion. IHT 9/20

Through a complex set of transactions, Borse Dubai will become a shareholder in Nasdaq and Nasdaq will become a strategic shareholder in the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX). Steps will be taken to allow DIFX to be rebranded with the Nasdaq name. Borse Dubai will purchase a 28 per cent stake in the London Stock Exchange (LSE) from Nasdaq and Nasdaq will win control of OMX, given that all the necessary regulatory conditions are met. Khaleej Times 9/21
Here is the extremely interesting part to me. Remember the Carlyle Group? The highly controversial private global investment firm who all the ' big names ' consult for. The company who placed their HQ in Washington, DC "so it wouldn't get lost in the crowd of New York investment firms". The company that bought out the bin Laden's family shares in the company after Sept 11, 2001. Well..there making news again. and what perfect timing they have. I suspect their hand in the 'odd Nasdaq trade' with Dubai.

In an article in the Washington Post this morning , "Carlyle is selling part of its stake to Abu Dhabi".
Private-equity giant Carlyle Group said yesterday that it is selling a 7.5 percent share of its general partnership to an investment group owned by the government of Abu Dhabi.
.......
Some of the countries[in the UAE] once sought to buy assets outright, but after the outcry over a bid to take over management of a U.S. ports operator, many have pursued less visible strategic investments with KEY firms.
......
Some of the countries once sought to buy assets outright, but after the outcry over a bid to take over management of a U.S. ports operator, many have pursued less visible strategic investments with key firms.
Of all the emirates of the UAE, Abu Dhabi is by far the richest. Her 420,000 citizens are estimated to have a monetary worth of $17 million each. In short, Abu Dhabi makes the Hampton's feel like Compton in the 80's.

Excuse me here...but this is some crazy $hit. Carlyle is making out like a bandit while the market is crumbling. While the markets rupture it seems to me like they're shoring up capital and wielding the 'hands of capitalism' to their whim. Wait..David M. Rubenstein,Carlyle co-founder, just said that at the Private Equity Analyst Conference in New York on the 19th
"I don't know if we are going to go public or no....This gives us the flexibility to say yes or no, we don't want to. The reason you go public is to get permanent capital to do a lot of things. But NOW we have permanent capital." Washington Post 9/21
Tom Taulli, author of The Edgar Online Guide to Decoding Financial Statements explains Carlyle Group's newsworthy deal in excellent fashion with his brief analysis on Blogging Buyouts
the firm has snagged a $1.35 billion private investment from Mubadala Development Company, which is part of Abu Dhabi. Essentially, this places a hefty $20 billion valuation on Carlyle.

It's an important move. Carlyle wants to have a permanent source of capital, which can help with minority investment opportunities and even buying up other private equity firms.

Plus, in order to keep up the growth momentum, Carlyle needs to expand into new markets, such as the Middle East.

America. Please wake up! The Carlyle/Haliburton show is shifting into 'OVERDRIVE' and our media is silent.

Selling the Stock Exchange: Dubai to buy large stake in Nasdaq

The infamously shady Dubai is attempting to purchase a 20 to 30 percent stake in both the New York and London stock exchanges. unbelievable.

Excerpts from the International Herald Tribune

If the deal is completed, Dubai would become the first Middle East government to own a large stake in an American stock exchange. It also is expected to become the largest single investor in Nasdaq.

The deal by the Borse Dubai would give Dubai a stake of 20 percent to 30 percent in Nasdaq, the largest electronic stock market in America, and about 30 percent in the London Stock Exchange, according to people who have been briefed.

....

Reports of a possible deal brought questions last night from lawmakers in Washington about potential compromises to security in the United States. The concerns were similar to those raised more than a year ago when another Dubai-owned company, DP World, tried to buy a company that managed port operations around the United States

.....

"Should any government own any part of a major U.S. stock exchange?" asked Schumer

....

Borse Dubai plans to acquire its stakes in the New York and London exchanges through an elaborate series of steps growing out of its success in outbidding Nasdaq for the OMX Group for about $4 billion.

AFRICOM: In the Hands of Wolfowitz

September 20th...Where is your Wolfowitz?

He's screwing Africa that's where. Today, The American Enterprise Institute is having a closed door meeting named, AFRICOM: Implications for African Securtiy and U.S.- African Relations. Do we really want the man who helped BushCo seduce the nation into war with Iraq leading the way into Africa? I don't believe so.

September 20, AEI is holding a conference on the U.S. military's new Africa Command (AFRICOM) to discuss the forms the security partnership should take to protect U.S. interests. Also of concern is China's activity and long-term strategy on the continent, the subject of a September 12 AEI conference organized by Mauro De Lorenzo. Other AEI scholars, including Roger Bate, continue to the examine foreign aid and pharmaceutical policies affecting public health in Africa. Paul Wolfowitz will be focusing on development issues in Africa.

AEI press release

Speakers at this AEI conference will address some of the major questions raised by AFRICOMs creation: What are U.S. interests in Africa, and what forms of security partnership will protect them most effectively? How does Africa define its own security priorities, and what forms of U.S. engagement does it find most valuable? Does this signal a fundamental shift away from a primarily humanitarian foreign policy toward Africa to a more normal policy based on mutual interests and common threats?

Panel I: Whats New about AFRICOM and Whats Not?

Panelists:
Gen. James L. Jamerson, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), Lockheed Martin Corporation

Theresa M. Whelan, U.S. Department of Defense

Paul Wolfowitz, AEI

Moderator:
Thomas Donnelly, AEI
Wolfowitz and his other lunatic PNAC cronies should keep their paws off Africa. The formation of AFRICOM is quickly becoming a highly controversial issue in both the US and abroad. The establishment of AFRICOM is of growing geopolitical concern due to the continents large oil and gas reserves and China's increasing presence on the continent.
“Natural resources represent Africa's current and future wealth, but in an open-market environment, many benefit,” she continued. “Ironically, the U.S., China, and other countries share a common interest -- that of a secure environment in Africa, and that's AFRICOM's objective. defenselink

Whelan insisted that Africom was being created mainly to rationalise US international military command structures, as different African countries now fell under three different US military commands.
Abdullah Alzubedi, Libya's ambassador to South Africa, asked Whelan how the US could divide the world up into its own military commands. Wasn't that for the United Nations to do? he asked. And if China, say, decided also to create an Africa Command, would that not cause conflict?
Peter Fabricius
Is Africa becoming the 'sand box' of choice for another proxy war?

Under the recommendations of Wolfowitz and his AEI cronies, the program will undoubtedly take a militaristic view. They will deem it necessary to provide assistance to their 'long war' of terror. Their [Wolfowitz,PNAC,AEI,neocons] view on the world, known as 'Bush diplomacy' is accomplished through preemption. By acting first and dealing with questions later. They will militarize the continent. It will fall into two camps. The east vs. the west.

Africa has been neglected by the world for decades..and now everyone takes interest...It's because of their oil..it's always about the oil

Wolfowitz' lack of judgement has a long record. Everything this man touches screws the world and benefits relatively few. Don't let the US fall into another Wolfman Trap.

His 'planning' already proved catastrophic for the Middle East. He Failed at the IMF. Should he really be 'planning' for the entire continent of Africa? He is not an expert. He is a neo con hack. He is a criminal.

Shall we remember the words of 40 of his collegues at the IMF..his last 'employer'
"There is only one way for Wolfowitz to further the mission of the bank: He should resign. He has damaged his own credibility on good governace." BBC

ARE you Kidding? France recieves contract for Nuclear Power plant in Libya

This one blows my mind. Here we go.

The entire world is in upheaval over the 'nuclear option'. Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, India, Syria, China..everyone is in on it. But here is what's odd. We all agree whether it is for electrical purposes, desalination, or for weaponisation...Nuclear capabilities still prove to be the answer of last resort. Solar, wind, thermal...anything besides nuclear.

Yet we press on..and France is as close to the forefront in nuclear technology as anyone. A French company was just awarded the contract to build the new steel cover over Chernobyl and now we find out that another French based company Areva sealed a deal with Libya to build a nuclear power plant.
During a visit to Libya by French President Nicolas Sarkozy in late July, the leaders signed a memorandum of understanding that would allow French nuclear-giant Areva to build a nuclear power plant there [Libya].

from another article, the Germans weigh in...

Reinhard Buetikofer, accused Sarkozy of "reckless, nationalistic activism" and called the deal "highly questionable in security policy terms."

The Gadhafi regime gave up its nuclear weapons program only four years ago. The deal comes just days after Libya released five Bulgarian nurses and one Palestinian doctor accused of deliberately infecting several hundred children with HIV.

That's right. France is building a nuclear desalination plant for Muammar Gaddafi. France the country of who just publicly warned Iran with bombardment about her pursuit of 'nuclear intentions' is providing assistance to a country who only four years ago was part of the 'extended' axis of evil, Libya. France..Freedom fries..France.

I find this appalling. The man who Reagan hit with air strikes in 1986, gave us Lockerbie, had ACTUAL WMD stockpiles has became part of the 'crew'.

Our enemies from yesterday are our BFF today. Is four years of being the obedient step child of the west long enough? I don't believe so.

The war of terror continues to make odd bedfellows.

Another Boring Bin Laden Video "what will he look like this time?'

It appears Al Qaeda is on another propaganda tour. Another video is expected to be released soon. The supposed 'authentic video' was announced on an Islamic militant website which ran the banner

"Soon, God willing: 'Come to Jihad', from sheik Osama bin Laden, God protect him"

"Urgent, al-Qaeda declares war on the tyrant Pervez Musharraf and his apostate army, in the words of Osama bin Laden,". usatoday

Great..more propaganda from the 'ghost of bin Laden'. How's this possible if it has already been reported that..
"..bin Laden has not chaired a meeting of Al Qaida's ruling shura or council in more than two years." Ayman al-Zawahiri, Bin Laden's number two, has rebuilt the terror network since the Afghan war in 2001"

"Al Qaida under Al-Zawahiri's direction has promoted a new generation of leaders to the highest echelons of the shura, a group of 20 to 30 leaders who govern operations, finance and religious fatwahs.

"The guys on the subs' bench are now in the XI. They have stopped using mobile phones to talk to each other, which has made it more difficult to find them," times of india 9/16

and....
"This is a man on the run in a cave who is virtually impotent other than his ability to get these messages out," Frances Townsend
CNN 9/10
So..I guess we'll get another still image of Osama bin Laden with the voice of another.

The question of the day....what will the fake Osama look like?

Will it be fat Osama? Fake bearded Osama? Sickly Osama?

Pakistan: 'Bush Whacking' Democracy in less than 15 Days

The summer in Pakistan has been wild. First off, its election time. Musharraf who installed himself as President after a bloodless coup in 1999, is running AGAIN despite the reality that he can not. This has thrown Pakistan into complete chaos.

In a pathetic attempt to stay in power Musharraf is subverting democracy in every way possible. September has been full of confusion on the micro level, but on the macro level it's easy to see the subversion in action.
In effect, while Musharraf does a Lalu on his country, Negroponte is doing a Honduras on Pakistan. Times of India 9/15
Pakistan is critical to the war on terror. The United States must keep Musharraf in power or the entire 'network' on the war on terror breaks down. So, what is their strategy? In short..subversion..check this out.

Nawaz Sharif declares he's coming back to Pakistan. This leads Saudi Arabia and the United States to send their top officials to Pakistan IMMEDIATELY. While in Pakistan the situation was tense awaiting Sharif's moves. Would he actually get on the plane?
an official said last night "There are crisis meetings going on around the clock. No final decision has been made. It probably won't be made until the last minute... "Let's see first whether Sharif gets on the plane. We've then got eight hours to decide." The Australian 9/10
Sharif's announcement led Pakistan anti terror courts sent out a message that they were preparing VIP prison cells for Sharif's arrival. Sharif's brother was accused of murder charges and faced imprisonment if he came back with his brother. Undeterred by the threats, Sharif boarded a plane and headed to Pakistan on Sept 10th.
"My ambition is very clear, I have to take Pakistan back to the rule of democracy, because unless we have this, we will continue to be in a state of mess as we are today," he [Sharif] told reporters on the plane as they waited for takeoff. Reuters 9/10
While in the air, Musharraf cracked down on his supporters and sealed the airport. When Sharif landed his plane was boarded...he was taken into custody...and sent to Saudi Arabia for another 3 years in exile. Problem solved, right?

Nope. Sharif has roughly 160 million supporters...Supporters of DEMOCRACY. They want honest representation. They want Sharif. If not Sharif, Bhutto will do. But this is another problem all together. This has completely threatened Musharraf and forced him to take dramatic measures to stay in power.

Musharraf has done everything possible in a extremely short time. From broken down power sharing agreements with Bhutto, to stating that he will be elected by HIS government, not the new.

In the most recent turn of events, the courts, who are no friend to Musharraf, have stated that he can not hold both the army Chief title and Presidency concurrently....funny thing is, according to the Pakisani constitution...if Musharraf resigns from his military post he would be ineligible to run for political office for 2 years. This would effectively render his election bid USELESS. So what did they come up with...

They've suggested having his wife run for President and he stay on as Army chief. This brings us to another rather peculiar situation. His wife Sehba has no political experience. NONE. She is Harvard educated, has lived in London for 8 years and their sons in the United States. Chicago, I believe. This arrangement was quickly dismissed though. But...

If this situation does occur, it would bring about the 'battle of the wives' . You see after Sharif was RE-exiled on the 10th, Kulsoom Sharif, said she would 'follow in the footsteps of his[Nawaz] footsteps' and bring the 'oxygen of democracy' to a people asphyxiating under a dictatorship.' Later adding 'I will see how they will stop me'..'I am not under the same restrictions as Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif.

It's unbelievable what is occurring. Just remember..this all has occurred in roughly 15 days! Musharraf, under the advice of Negroponte and Boucher are completely 'bushwhacking' democracy in Pakistan.
The mastermind of this Made-in-USA arrangement is said to be former intelligence czar and Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte, who is credited with managing delicate regime changes in Latin America.

Negroponte and his state department colleague, Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher, were very much in the picture in Islamabad when the Musharraf regime forcibly deported Nawaz Sharif with help from Bush ally, the House of Sad, in contravention of the Supreme Court ruling
Times of India 9/15
and today, Sept 20th...it gets much more interesting. Reuters is reporting a new Osama Bin Laden video where he 'Declares war on Musharraf and the Pakistani army.'

I guess somebody was paying attention...Bin Laden. Pakistan is being 'bush whacked'.

video: Bhutto predicts 'upheaval' without proper elections.

General Rudy Giuliani at your Service...in London

The General speaks...excerpts from Reuters

Giuliani, giving the first "Margaret Thatcher Atlantic Bridge" lecture to an audience that included the former British prime minister, called for an expansion of the US military, saying it had cut back too much after the Cold War.

"We need to add at least 10 new combat brigades, that's probably just the beginning," Giuliani said.

The United States faced not only Islamic terrorism, but also had to consider the possibility of a "large war with a nation state,"

.....

"The policy of the United States of America should be very, very clear: we will use any option we believe is in our best interest to stop them from being a nuclear power,"

Do we really want this guy campaigning on the European continent? Excerpts from HuffingtonPost.
"I'm probably one of the four or five best known Americans in the world," Giuliani told a small group of reporters at a posh London hotel as onlookers gathered in the lobby to gawk at actor Dustin Hoffman who was on a separate visit.

....

Giuliani said earlier in the day that as president he would take any action necessary to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.

"That is not said as a threat. That should be said as a promise," he said.

Adm. William Fallon's 'Containment' Tour

The man who gave US the statements.. General Petraeus is , "an ass-kissing little chickens**t"... I hate people like that", and "We won't have war with Iran on my watch", is currently on a ten day tour throughout the Gulf region.

He is attempting to solidify US allied support against Iran.
Admiral William Fallon's, chief of the Central Command (CENTCOM), ten day tour will consist of stops in Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq. This could be viewed as either: coalition building, a containment strategy, or another arms deal. Excerpts from the Air Force Times article

At military compounds and royal reception halls across the Persian Gulf this week, Adm. William Fallon is delivering personal appeals to Arab leaders to counter Iran’s ambitions to expand its regional influence and move ahead with its nuclear program.

Fallon has carefully avoided publicly discussing any war contingency plans or making any direct threats against Iran, which sits in his sphere of operations. As head of U.S. Central Command, he oversees forces in Central Asia, the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.

His current 10-day trip, which began Saturday in Bahrain, was more about seeking to quietly galvanize Gulf leaders while letting others sharply escalate pressure on Tehran. On Sunday, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said the world should prepare for war if Iran obtains nuclear weapons.

......

Military officials with knowledge of Fallon’s meetings also suggested that pressure from Gulf nations could dissuade Iranian naval forces from challenging U.S. and allies watching over Iraqi oil platforms and shipping lanes into Kuwait and Iraq. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

......

“We want to send Iran a message that there are no cracks between the U.S. and its allies here,” Fallon said.

...he still comes bearing 'gifts'...

In Bahrain, Fallon expressed support for a possible $300 million upgrade for the nation’s F-16 fleet and met with Crown Prince Sheik Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, who also serves as commander in chief of the nation’s military forces.

The drumbeat for war with Iran is increasing at a rapid pace. Within the last few weeks, the Gulf has been 'rearmed', war plans have been drawn on all sides, Israel hit Syria with air strikes (without international denunciations ...odd) , the US and UK have ignored IAEA recommendations, ignored the UN, France has increased their rhetoric....worse..the echo chamber is occurring on dreadful FOX news. Wake up America!

Mukasey, Mukasey, Mukasey...'Are you business as usual?'

I believe this guy is TOO loyal. Too loyal to Rudy Giuliani. He is a Rudy crony, a Reagan crony, a Bush crony. His son used to work at Giuliani's infamously scandal prone law firm, Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, and sat on his presidential advisory council..check it out..Like daddy like son. It's on rudy's website! Here are the highlights, from the July 16th 2007 press release.
Rudy Giuliani Campaign Unveils Justice Advisory Committee

The Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee today unveiled the members of Rudy Giuliani’s Justice Advisory Committee. Former Solicitor General of the United States Ted Olson will serve as Chairman.

The Committee is comprised of some of America’s leading conservative scholars and practicing attorneys, many of whom Rudy Giuliani has known since his time serving as Associate Attorney General in Ronald Reagan’s Justice Department.

“Rudy Giuliani believes in limited government, individual liberty and interpreting the Constitution the way its framers intended...He understands that we need judges who interpret the Constitution, not legislate from the bench.” said Ted Olson
Here's a quick look at his Advisory council members list
Chairman of Justice Advisory Committee:
Ted Olson, former Solicitor General of the United States

Members:
Miguel Estrada, former Assistant to the Solicitor General of the U S
Steven Calabresi, Co-Founder of the Federalist Society

Larry Thompson, former Deputy Attorney General of the United States
Charles Fried, former Solicitor General of the United States
Carol Dinkins, former Deputy Attorney General of the United States Maureen Mahoney, former Deputy Solicitor General of the United States
Doug Cox, former Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the U S
Marc Mukasey, former Assistant U.S. Attorney
Dan Webb, former U.S. Attorney for the N. District of Illinois
Michael Mukasey, fmr Chief Judge,U.S. District Court for the S. District of NY
....and so on.
Just thought I'd point that out. His fondness and cozy relationship with the Giuliani campaign should raise enough questions to his 'loyalty'. He's not the right man at this critical stage of losing our civil liberties. All in the name of the 'national security threat'
Mukasey is 'business as usual'. Another 'firewall' for the remainder of the Bush administration tenure in DC. He will allow them to slip away.
The Honorable Michael B. Mukasey, formerly Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, rejoined the firm [Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP] as a partner in September 2006.

Judge Mukasey is active in the firm’s Litigation group, working on white collar defense and investigations matters, providing advice on corporate governance issues and actively litigating civil and criminal cases. pbwt
In another article
In his rulings and published writings. Mukasey clearly accepts the language that the administration uses to discuss the struggle against Al Qaeda, says Benjamin Wittes, fellow and research director in public law at the Brookings Institution.

In other words, he accepts that the fight is indeed a war – which would indicate that he also accepts the necessity for tough legal measures as part of that battle... csmonitor 9/18/07
...and Rudy's Sept, 17th press statement on Mukasey doesn't say anything about Rudy and Mukasey's cozy relationship. Nobody is talking about that link. Not even himself. This link is Giuliani's 'kiss of death' to nominees..Remember Bernard Kerik? Pounce Dems..take off your mittens.
Statement from Rudy Giuliani Regarding the President’s Intention to Nominate Michael Mukasey to be U.S. Attorney General

"The President could not have picked a person with greater integrity than Michael Mukasey to be the next Attorney General. As in everything Michael does, he will meet and exceed all expectations in his new role.

"He is a great lawyer with vast experience and during his 18 years on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York - six serving as Chief Judge - Michael was considered to be one of the best judges in the country."
Mukasey means business as usual at the DOJ under his leadership. Worse..if Giuliani somehow 'pulls a fast one' and thrusts himself into the WH in 2009, the same type of relationship that 'W' had with Gonzo will occur again.
